The Nameplates feature is very nice to have. But could we pls have an assignable key/button to have the nameplates appear/disappear? Or is this already possible?

Thank you and Kind Regards,
Andre

No idea then sorry. Hopefully the developer will chime in.

There is a new keybind for this. Search in control options for “name”. Make sure you have “All” selected on the left.

Great! Thank you!

Something quirky happened with this keybind with SU11 and/or the AAU1 beta. My control binding for it just stopped working. The one I added to show/hide the taxi ribbon still works but I can’t get the show/hide nameplate function to work these days. And as an aside, it’s really hard to come up with unique keybindings in this sim!

Works for me in SU11 (no betas). Think I tied it to alt+shift+n and added to my streamdeck as a single button.

Thanks runshotgun; that’s unfortunate, as I just want to paste in coordinates to teleport. I guess I’ll still have to utilize the developer toolbar in order to teleport – which is the primary reason I would use FLOW. I tried to find a script but haven’t had any luck. I also emailed flow support a few weeks ago, but haven’t heard back as of yet.

Support for purchased products is a beautiful thing…the behavior of the double cogs is not normal. Flow does however show you when it first loads, there is no bypassing that.

This is a base feature of the Sim since a few updates ago. Please search for Nameplates in your controls or search the forums here.

Hi there, we don’t have tickets open for weeks please provide me a ticket number so we can assist or create one if needed.

Very simple solution, drag the 2nd one (at the bottom) out towards the left.
It is stowed on the right side.

Did somebody try to use it seriously in VR?
To me it does not work as expected due to limitations of MSFS:
In VR it does not appear as a circle. It appears in the center a rectangle translucent window. Depending on the 2D Desktop screen resolution it is no longer round, it is sqeezed to an egg.

I have a monitor resolution of 5120x1440.
What about using 3840x1440? Can anybody tell?

The other windows of Flow need some space, so if You make the panel window smaller, dialogs may not be shown completely.

Then the most annoying fact comes into place:
I assume the panel window has a medium size and is not put to an outer edge of the view but set somehow to screen center.
So when You look straight out of Your cockpit window, You will hit the Flow panel window with the center of Your VR view. In this moment, the panel window gets the focus and the simulator looses the focus. This lets Your joystick stop working.
Moving the head to the side, that the center area of the VR view is outside the Flow panel window, the sim gives back the joystick control.

When flying a helicopter and having the flow window placed to the lower screen half, also looses the joystick focus when looking down to land. Crash. In this case You need to move the flow window up or make it disappear.

All in all not beautiful, but I think all of this is caused by limitations of Flightsimulator.
It can not create other shapes than rectangular windows as panels and it gives panels the focus just by looking at the window in VR.

Who else stepped over these issues?

In general I like Flow very much and it’s posibilities are unlimited since it works with scripts and can use Flighsim variables.

I’ve had my eye on this for awhile and seen a few streamers using it (AvAngel, BritishAvGeek …) so I bit the bullet tonight. After seeing several scripts on Flightsim dot to that looked very useful, I sucked it up and bought the Pro version so I could use Community scripts like those. Wow - what a wonderfully designed little UI widget and utility! Why the heck the sim’s UI doesn’t work this fluidly from the get-go is beyond me, but I am in love. I just wish I knew Javascript so I could write my own scripts instead of relying on the largesse and smarts of others who choose to share. But even the stock //42 widgets the program comes with are simple, easy to understand and work great.

I have no financial interest or incentive in posting here - just a new and very impressed customer of what this developer has made available to the community. If you’re interested in trying out the basic functionality, there is a freeware version available from Orbx.

Thinking about getting Flow Essentials, but at checkout I only see payment in AUD, will it adjust to $15 US, if I pull the trigger?

Well, you will be charged the equivalent converted into your currency but receipt (for me also) is always in AUD. Don’t think you can change that but it hasn’t caused any problems here.

Thanks, think I’ll give it a try.

As @Baracus250 says, the receipt will be in $AUD but the actual amount will probably vary a little bit from the estimate from Orbx. Currency values change daily (actually in real-time, I think, or close to it, based on the market activity of currency traders …). Most banks and financial clearinghouses just set a time of day to use for THE exchange rate for purchase through credit cards, PayPal, etc.

I just got Flow PRO and started to play with it. Looks very promising. Will there be a possibility in the future to move the wheel on a second touch screen and have access to touch functions?

Flow was designed as an “in game” panel, same as the menu bar that it replaced.

It’s not anywhere on the roadmap to rebuild the core implementation at this time. Thank you for your support.

Couple things re: the nameplates.
The setting to enable the custom nameplates seems to be a persistent setting, but it often doesn’t work for me unless I go into the Flow settings and toggle the checkbox off & on.
Also, the friends-only feature just doesn’t seem to work at all.
