Okay after months of frustrations that’s definitely got worse since the new ATR and Airbus v2 has come out, I’ve had to comment on the quality issues of 4simmers products. A huge chunk of issues is because of what they release including signs at airports, liveries for planes etc.
People pay good money for there products and unfortunately once purchased you are in the hands of the gods, and for 2024 I’ll no longer be purchasing anything from them even though I love the ideas and what they come out with, but it just fundamentally breaks the game in numerous areas.
ATR
Liveries often turn pink in other aircraft when viewed from a distance
Game breaking bug where the plane stops responding and throttle leavers stop moving
Inconsitant functionality in different varients of the plane above and beyond the mind game bugs
MCDU hangs
Blank Screens on occasions
Airbus A320 v2 Neo
All screens freeze along with the MCDU making it almost impossible to fly the plane from the cockpit, just pick the Condor livery to experience this but other 4simmers liveries suffer the same, this doesn’t happen on default liveries. And often you see people complaining on the A320 v2 thread that its the plane, when in fact its caused by 4simmers liveries.

These are just some of the issues off 2 planes, but there’s more across the product stack. How do we hold developers to account especially when we pay for the product?!?!
I’ve definately had cockpit freezing, livery not displaying correctly, MCDU and cockpit controls freezing. I also have 4simmers installed for the A320 and ATR, so there could be something in this.
Looking at the files though, I can’t see what would cause a crash, if it’s the CFG files which are very basic or the textures themselves.
This is a tricky problem to solve as I don’t see either the 3rd party of core sim developers taking ownership so we as the purchaser are left in complete limbo unless somebody can identify precisely where the issues are coming from and then push for a fix or avoid the purchase entirely.
4simmers have not fixed the ATR textures for months now and I do feel @Zooze47 could be onto something here, so I’ll be trying alternative solutions to see if I can eradicate these issues.
There are all sorts of reasons this could be happening
texture.cfg issues in the texture directories will cause pink texture issues.
Incorrect model.cfg and panel.cfg entries. Many times you don’t even need these files, but livery authors who don’t know what they’re doing include them and then break things.
Incorrect aircraft.cfg entries - all sorts of errors can be introduced here
I think you may have to do a DIY on these problems and promise yourself never to buy anything from a seller who fails to support their customer base. Very sorry to hear about your experience.
It’s not the first time this developer has been covered unfavourably in these forums. I have bought a number of addons from them in the past but they are on my avoid list for some time now. There are better options out there.
New version of MSFS 2024 which in Europe presently I can only fly if I VPN to America, has the same issue on the A320 V2 (Standard version of MSFS 2024 with no additional content).
Avonics in the cockpit completely frozen. So sadly it looks like not only is this an issue on ATR and A320 planes for MSFS 2020, but the same bugs have been carried over to MSFS 2024 as well.
I just bought (June 2025) the 747-8 liveries from 4simmers and they aren’t selectable in MSFS24 on the configure tab for the 747-8. I’m new to MSFS24 and may be doing something wrong, but these other posts are indicating there might be a larger problem.
I got the same liveries and they work fine for me the battleship grey United 747 is beautiful
I’m not in the beta if that helps. Maybe check your library make sure they are active? And make sure you have selected the passenger variant
I thought I had a similar problem in that I couldn’t load into a flight after installing the recently released 747-8 passenger livery pack. I was able to see the liveries though. I still restart the sim after I purchase and enable something from the marketplace though.
After launching a flight in the default livery and restarting the sim, I was able to launch a flight using liveries from the pack. I figured my issue was because I recently reinstalled MSFS 2024 and never used the 747 in game before.
Regarding the original post about the general quality of 4Simmers liveries, I don’t use the liveries often enough to experience the issues the OP mentioned. The first livery pack I purchased was the F-18 liveries for 2024, specifically to get the Blue Angels liveries. 4Simmers had the best version in 2020 in my opinion regarding decal location and color. Unfortunately, the 4Simmers Blue Angels liveries are the only ones that don’t work correctly. There are spots on the gear doors that show as the grey from the default livery. The photo used on the 2024 marketplace banner must have been from when the livery worked in 2020.
Oh well, I’ll have to keep an eye out for the other issues mentioned in this thread to see if I need to disable some of the livery packs I bought from 4Simmers on 2024, if I also run into issues with addon functionality.
