I have a 5700XT card and Samsung 49". Having FPS around 20-25 on EGLL and around 25 on cruisng altitude. Anybody else having low framerates on this kind of resolution too? or any tips?
Might be gest to upgrade to new 3080 for more fps
I run 49" 5120x1440 monitor, all ultra with LOD Increased to 600 via user.ini file
3800x
3609mhz dd4
All slightly over clocked
Getting 25 in cities and upto 45-50 at altitude
This is eirh a 2080ti, the new 3070 in as powerful and 3080 more powerfull
Remember you are pushing almost 4k Res number of pixels so you need some power
I agree with the previous posters. 5120x1140 is almost 6 megapixels. 1080P for example is little over 2 megapixels. So you are basically trying to run three times the pixels per frame than in 1080P.
My advice would be to lower the render resolution to get some more FPS. I do it in many games with my 1440P screen as it is sometimes too high of a resolution. Try 80-90% and see what results you get.
If that doesn’t help then you need to start looking at the RTX 3000-series graphics cards…
I think he may have 5130x1440 and not what he tyoed, which means like me he is pushing 7.3 millions pixels, 8.2m is 4k, so even more than you thought?
Like above post either drop to lower Res on monitor, or drop to 80 on rendering in the sim, or get more power
Which planes have you tried, and what’s your CPU?
You might also want to enable the developer tools, then check the FPS counter to see what limits you.
If you’re in an airliner and have anything but a high-end CPU (e.g. Ryzen 3000 series, 9700K+/10600K+) you’re probably CPU limited and a better GPU won’t help.
If you have the same problem in e.g. the Icon A5 and Cessna 152 you’re probably GPU limited. But as mentioned you can check this for sure with the dev tools.
Limited by MainThread or by CoherentGTDraw means CPU limited, the only other thing it’ll show is GPU.
I have Ryzen 7 3700 and card is 5700XT. Gpu is making the problem. CPU is looking good.
Flying neo.
5120 x 1440 is right
always set your resolution exactly what you use out of the game… 2560x1440 is perfect at 60fps for me.
True, but he has twice the Res at 49", which equal half the fps, because his monitor is the same as running two 2560x1440 monitors, the new nvidia RTX3080 should be all the power needed for that res I would have thought?
Ahh… i use a 50 inch 4k ultra HD screen. But even with my setup 2080Ti i7-8700k with 32gb I still average 60 in non gaming planes in most places. He has a very odd resolution though… hmm
You said 2560x1440, that’s way less than 4k?
2560x1440 is 2.3x less than 4k, if running 4k no way would you be getting 60fps on your set up
But what kind of fps are you getting on an heavy airport like EGGL? I am getting around 22 fps.
Well with just ultra set and LOD at 200, all heavy airports are around 30fps, with 600 LOD though it can drop at low as 20 fps
Which is why I am after a 3080/3090 as soon as they become available
It’s an ultra wide screen BTW, 32:9 ratio, Instead of using a two monitor setup you can use one 32:9 monitor for seamless picture
I actually don’t know this one but I do know ultra wide monitors have played havoc for games for some time now. Sorry dude
Man what you on lol… Ultra wide monitors do NOT play havoc with games, they run less pixels (just) than 4k
You say you have 4k but then you say you in 2560x1440?? Do you actually know anything about PCs lol…
Yeah I’ve been gaming and I do it full time on YT now… im just saying that ultra wide screen has not been easy to setup hence your post right? Also I’ve been gaming since 8 lol I’ve never used a pc monitor other than the old crt monitors. Best bang for buck. Thank samsung lol
No my post mate, I am loving my Samsung G9, awesome screen, I have no problems here, the reason I ask you is you said you had a 50" 4k and get 60fps but you run at 2560x1440 lol, that’s NOT 4k, that’s 2.5x less than 4k, hence your fps
I have a Samsung CRG9 monitor with 5120 x 1440. I have a Ryzen 3700X and a 2080 Super with 32 GB RAM.
I’m getting about 30 FPS on “High” graphics settings while flying at altitude. Going to lower altitudes over cities gives be about 10-15 FPS as well as flying around large detailed airports. It will be around 30 FPS, suddenly drop to 10 FPS. As soon as I leave the area it jumps right back to 30 FPS.
I went into developer mode and it shows that the GPU is the bottleneck. I think a 3080 is in my future to play MSFS at this resolution. I’m currently waiting for benchmarks of MSFS at this resolution on the new cards before making a purchase.
Have you seen benchmarks yet for this resolution and the 3080?
Hopefully this is the card we need.
