This seems to be happening at various stages of the installā¦ Iām stuck at 51% on downloading āfs-base-effects-legacy-0.1.27.fspatchā
Iām also stuck at 1/275 ādecompressing asobo flight tutorials 0.1.8ā¦fs packageā. Loops without decompressing anything. Iāve followed steps in FAQ to help resolve without success.
I seem to making some progress
- move everything out of community folder
- restart download. whenever it gets hung on a decompression step or keeps downloading the same files over and over again i
2a. close the simulator, check the process is really over in task manager
2b.go to where the files are being downloaded and delete the last few files on the topic, airplane or airport it is stuck on
2c. restart the simulator, as administrator - Iāve done this 3 or 4 times and each time it gets a little farther
I should take this as a sign to stop playing video games!!!
This is so frustrating, that Asobo is not testing their updates enough. Nearly all updates end up in a disaster.
Not an issue with deleting folders. Fully uninstalled to reinstall (after exhausting all options found online) and running into the same issue. Server issue?? This is so frustrating.
I have to do this for every single folder. I think there are 324 total and I have 85 to go. This is ridiculous!

I am stuck on the same place. (Decompressing asobo-flight-tutorials-straightandlevelflight-0.1.8.fspackage)
I have tried removing the file twice, but it again gets stuck at some other point, same file. This is exasperating. How do I get my money back from microsoft? I hope I donāt have to take a legal route, because I did not sign up for this. And to think of amount of time that I have wasted for this! I had to re-install the original package twice before I could use it, which means re-download the entire package and was already at the limit of my patience. But at that time I did not know that it would be a recurring experience! Otherwise I would have tried the refund route then and there! I was assuming that now that I have installed it, I would not have to face such harrowing experiences owning this junk! Evidently, that is not the case! I have a 65Mbps download speed (75 promised by the ISP and 65 reported by Ookla) so I am confident it is not my net connection. They should at least have put up bold announcements that āthis software is for people who have nothing better to do than spend hours and days in frustration (and with no help) for installation and periodic maintenance of this productā on the websites where they try to sell this junk.
I think I am heading to X-Plane. It had better flight models anyway from what I remember. I hope X-plane comes with installation medial (like it did with version 9 that I last owned), and does not insist on an internet connection so that I can continue with what I installed from the media and not worry about crashing packages! But then that is a Microsoft speciality!
(My reply does not improve the conversation, I know. It is going to get deleted, I know. But I am posting this up here anyway to vent my frustration!)

Iām stuck on the recent SU5 update, didnāt have this problem over the all the other ones.
Background:
MSFS on SSD, 32MB Ram, Ethernet-LAN 100MB
Upgrade on 1.18.14.0 (i.e. Hotfix) in MS-Store worked,
after launching the sim it failes with endless loop, same situation as many others have:
With me its usually something like: asobo_bushtrip_balkans_0.1.49.fspatch or landing_challenge_rio_* ā¦
varying with each try, smelling like a your āsmall-fileā problem. Sometimes its stuck at 1/313, sometimes 3 - came up to 14 once, thats it.
somtimes it doesnāt download anything, stuck with āPLease waitā¦ā
Tried the following (old) zendesk-advice (didnāt find anything newer, why??):
- netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled : successfull
- emptied community-folder of all files (directory remains)
NO EFFECT !
what I didnāt do as I have no idea what you mean:

where, in āofficialā? In any case , you must be kidding. -
uncheck the Internet Protocol Version 6

Please advice or create another Hotfix asap, many, many others have the same problem.

Have you been restarting your computer as well as the launcher? Iām making progress by restarting my entire computer.
Not sure if this has any effect, but I also have limited the FPS for FS in the NVIDIA Control Panel because it was tearing up my GPUā¦ always at 100%, and I have turned off the setting where your screens turn off because of no activity.
Let me know how youāre doing some time, lol, itās been a while since Iāve tried installing this game again because it was broke for me way back in March too.
Netlimiter works for most people, but the problem is that itās not a free program. It only has a free trial period, and I used it for that, but now Iāve always had these problems since I donāt want to pay.

Just found out that its incremental: with each try the number of files gets smaller. Doesnāt help me as I would need until 2030 at given progress speedā¦
For MS to point to 3rd -party payware is brash bearing, same league as this whole update strategy.
I let it run over the WE (in case their European servers are still hot), wait for a zen reply and keep you posted.

Hi all, just posting how the issue resolved for me after trying everything mentioned in posts and zendesk. Mine was stuck at various patches decompressing. Instead of deleting the folder being patched (which works but not a solution when the folder is fs-base-cgl 54 GB!! and not when it stuck on every file) I went to the folder attributes and made the folder NOT hidden. It was hidden. The path is users\appdata\local\msfspackages\official\onestore. It worked for me during downloads, so I paused the download before decompressing, made the respected folder unhidden and resumed. Maybe its completely unrelated but I thought to mention because it took me 20 days of trying alla sorts of tricks to download 34 GB of updatesā¦

Yup, I got the same issue. I did manage to get to download 5/59 before it jammed again by making āonestoreā files hidden then not hidden and retrying - now it wonāt go any further. Game is currently unusable. grrrr
Ah, same here. Tried deleting and restarting, nothing. Tried going into my computerās depths and deleting every mention of Flight Simulator from it. Nothing working so far, would appreciate hearing from anyone whoās had success.
I bought the game and after 3 days, I canĀ“t finished the install yet.
When finish downloading all the packages, it started to descompressing. 0.1.63.fspackage.0001 and itās been stuck there by hours and days.
I already delete some packages and it download again, but when it has to descompres, never happends.
Any solution?
