Hi first post here and a new noob to the game . Was wondering if someone could tell me what I was doing wrong when I load in a flight plan from the world map . After choosing a rnav approach to an airport runway I check my fmc legs and the last few legs are ----/---- .
I take it this is the reason why my vnav is not working . Thanks

Without knowing your method, let me outline what I do.
• ATC assigns an approach. Let’s say I’m flying into KSFO and they assign 28R via SIDBY transition.
• Press DEP/ARR
• Press ARR select 28R and transition SIDBY
• Press EXEC
That inserts the approach waypoints into the route and they then show up on the LEGS page. They also show up on the MFD.
Is that what you’re doing? Do you see the new waypoints appear on the MFD as a part of your magenta line flight path, but they don’t show on the LEGS page?

I was looking at the fmc before take off and the leg page does not seem compete the magenta to line does though . Do I have to put them in once atc tell me to ? Thanks for your help
Ok, maybe we need to take a further step back.
Forgive the assumptions: you’re setting up a Low or High Altitude IFR flight plan on the World Map, yes?
Are you leaving the DEPARTURE, ARRIVAL and APPROACH set to Direct, Direct and Automatic, respectively?
I was selecting high altitude ,departures and arrival both direct but selecting an approach rnav to a runway.
Ah, ok.
There are some limitations in the sim concerning the way the flight planner in the World Map works.
It is not capable of assigning approach transitions. If you’ve chosen an approach that has multiple transitions, I’m not sure which of the possible transitions it assigns to the flight plan.
I leave the approach on Automatic, because I expect ATC to assign an approach due to potential weather changes since I departed, etc.
When you press the DEP/ARR button and then the ARR button, what do you see for your runway and transition? Are they there as you would expect based on what you chose on the World Map?
I’m also not sure if the FMC shows your approach legs until you activate the approach.
I’ve tried assigning a particular approach but it’s the same result ----/---- on the last legs . I haven’t looked after pressing approach though . Thanks again

This is from the SU8 beta release notes, I’m wondering if this is what you’re running into. The first half of that statement, that is.

Just did a short flight with your settings everything worked apart from the final legs not showing again in the fmc even after approach was selected . Thanks for your help as that will probably make multiple trips easier to do as well.
Unsure about the final legs though just bugging me now like Im not doing something correctly
