With every setting set to high or ultra, it’s running like a charm.
Resolution? CPU?
1440p, with the AMD 8700G.
Wombed: I have the same CPU with an AMD 7900 XT.
Works great. just a question: when i switch from fullscreen to another aplication, say internet browser or vpilot for vatsim, the sistem lags and freezes for a very few seconds, i believe its the cpu, does it happen to you aswell? just curious
I had noticed that with my old 3060. Didn’t have any issues now though. Still weird that my gpu utilization goes up quite a bit when I’m in the menus.
Just upgraded to a 9070xt as well. Super smooth locked at 60fps to match my monitor with everything set to Ultra.
I got a Sapphire nitro+ because that was what was available and am impressed with the way it hides the cables.

Could you guys please post your test conditions? Which airplane, scenery, what’s enabled and what’s not, etc.?
I’m thinking about getting one, but I’m in doubt because the 7900XT has more VRAM and more raw power apparently, so looks like a better option, but not sure since I haven’t heard anything bad about the 9070XT.
It’s mainly the VRAM what pushes me back, because having a 6800XT, the improvement in VRAM is zero if I go for the 9070. In my country it isn’t less than a thousand USD, so spending that amount to have no improvements in VRAM makes me doubt a little.
Thanks!
My usual test is the New York City discovery flight since it’s easily repeatable.
I will also fly from CYPK - closest airport to my home - in the F18 Super Hornet and do a tour of downtown Vancouver then land at CYVR.
All settings on Ultra, no add ones.

Can you share some more info on your FSR/ Radeon settings and whether you use TAA or FSR in the sim? Also are you using Lossless Scaling or Optiscaler?
I have a 7800X3D AND 9070XT Hellhound OC but still trying to land on the sweet spot in terms of optimization
Thanks!!
Here are my settings in the AMD software and what is in the sim settings. Also included what it’s like on the ground at JFK in a 737. I was using 14gb of my 16gb vram here and that was the most I had seen so far.
Thanks! Could you show your custom graphic settings like TLOD?
Have you tried EDDF? Its killing my performance on the rtx 4070 super with the Fenix a320.
I will have to get a screenshot when I get back home, but TLOD is at 150 if I remember right.
My RT 7900 XTX has displayed 22.4 GB of VRAM
in FS2020/2024.
4K, Ultra, TAA with Terrain LoD=400 & Object LoD=900.
Newark, KEWR, scenery addon by Drzewiecki Design to
get the increased graphic detail.
The graphics is amazing.
How are you getting such high upper limits?
Is there a config file you’re modifying?
Are you sure about those values? I don’t remember them going that high
Anyway, that’s what refrains me from the 9070 XT, in my experience the MSFS franchise eats up as much VRAM as its available, and the 24GB of the 7900XTX would be more future proof than the 16GB of the 9070 XT.
Mini 40 fps for F18 on CYPK
Mini 36 fps for stock A330 on CYPK (but then weather was fog and rain … even if done immediately after the previous one). Setting MSFS2024 to “few clouds” does not modify the 99% low mini fps
Mini 41 fps for stock A330 changing from TAA to FSR2 in MSFS2024 settings
Config: Ryzen 5 3600, RX9070, 1080p, MSFS2024 set to high end,TAA; render scaling 100% > 1920*1080, FidelityFX sharpening 100%, Vsync ON, Dynamic settings target set to 40 fps, 32 Go DDR4
Have you checked your performance with dev mode overlay? If my 3700X was a bottleneck for my 6800XT, the 3600 must be a bigger bottleneck yet to the 9070
“Have you checked your performance with dev mode overlay? If my 3700X was a bottleneck for my 6800XT, the 3600 must be a bigger bottleneck yet to the 9070”
Yep, it appears so DevMode report “limited by mainthread” with 22ms for MainThread and 13ms(+2ms) for GPU
