Are these really that important issues? These are just GUI goodies.
The problem is how awareness of issues is brought up, the wrong things can get voted to the top which leads to controversy.
I get frustrated with MSFS, don’t get the impression that I have literally no issues with this sim. I know that third-party devs get frustrated too. I’m just glad I have other sims with a ton of addons I can turn to when I can’t stand the problems in MSFS however those others sims too have problems and lack features (some of which shouldn’t exist regarding the former).
However with some third-party devs they’re stuck. Some have decided to make full commitment to MSFS which is proving difficult however MSFS is the cat’s pajamas and if they want to rake in profit then they have no choice.
You can see that sim updates prior were pretty big when it comes to fixing and improving things. The fact that the Ju 52 was pushed back due to issues just shows that they want a good release. It’s pretty evident that Asobo are aware that the community are unhappy and are trying to improve. I really wish I can find that post that had a screenshot from a Discord saying that all aircraft are getting a major overhaul in their flight model.
Those are not, imo. But missing thermals/wind gusts, FDE issues (like excessive ground effect, the lack of inertia) are the real issues. MSFS has brought flying on rails on a whole another level.
Doubt that it will progress. The funding for future development is from the marketplace, which even that cant get updates on a timely fashion, now people dont want to purchase from there.
I believe a more exhaustive list has been nicely put together about a lot of this here:
Summary of missing items in MSFS, important to realistically simulate flight
How about actually wait 9 more years to see if it is a simulator. Then you’ll have the right to complain if it never comes to fruition. They did say it’s a 10 year project and Asobo is new to this highly complex genre. I spent loads of money but I ain’t complaining because A) I’m being patient and B) I decided to spend my money no one forced me to. I’m a long time simmer. The only game I play, which is on Xbox, is EA madden football.
I always say if you don’t like something then go try develop a better one.
If we’re in a beta so be it, we already spent our money so why not become an overall team and assist them with the issues and bugs we find the faster they can develop the sim. There will always be turbulence along the way but eventually we will get to our destination.
Yeah, @anon50268670 did an impressive job putting them together. The problem is that it’s been a year and there is a little to no progress.
The new NXi (even in beta form) is already one the most advanced pieces of avionics kit (in terms of capabilities) available in any flight sim, and Matt and the other developers from WT who are building that are also going to completely overhaul the default MSFS flight planner. I don’t expect that in SU6, but certainly in the relatively near future.
Any flight sim ?
I believe the PMDG Boeing systems, the FSLab Airbus systems, the Tolis Airbus systems, and a few other similar, ARE the most sophisticated pieces of avionics in any flight sim, followed shortly by any Garmin from RXP.
Hhahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahah
Think they mean stock (at some point). In retrospect back in FSX default airliners had a Garmin 500 that obviously was not appropriate and was very, very limited in capabilities.
It is not stock yet, and WT is not even listed in the FS2020 credits.
It looks like it will be a stock gauge but it might be in fact just a business deal MSFT purchasing the rights to use a gauge code, which WT remains owner.
In other words, it will only be stock because MSFT purchases and pay for it, but should they had paid PMDG for example you’d have the most sophisticated STOCK Boeing in any flight sim, and should they had paid RXP you’d have the most sophisticated STOCK Garmin GPS in any flight sim too…
This doesn’t mean MSFT doesn’t care, but this doesn’t make WT any particular gauge gurus either
10 years beta? Hmm what would chris roberts think of this😊
Sometimes if you are patient enough you see miracles come true and you lose a lots of bets when everything interesting seems to fail…a curse perhaps? More bombastic the announcements, more disappointing the facts.
Neither PMDG nor FSLabs can fly an RNP/AR approach with complex RF legs (such as the two at Palm Springs). The NXi can, and it tracks both the lateral and vertical profiles perfectly. Not sure about the Tolis.
I really hope you’re correct.
The first real sim I had was Bruce Artwick’s Sublogic simulator (1980) which later became Microsoft Flight Simulator.
It had wireframe graphics but was infinitely more serious than FS2020. A true flight simulator dedicated to simulating FLIGHT, within the technology available at the time, not scenery.
That’s 40 years of flight sim experience. The only thing that FS2020, with all its amazing eye candy is missing, is that same dedication…but maybe that’s not what people want anymore.
Yo buddy, would you seriously fly that BAS today, just because you say it is more serious than MSFS? C’mon, we all want realism, and one extremely important part of it is graphics.
Of course graphics are important…but not at the expense of a focus on the flight element.
Currently wrapping up my flight on MSFS during the VATSIM FNO, was super fun. Massive amount of traffic and controllers!

I’m sorry. Don’t really understand the point you are making with your post.
Glad you had a good time though.
