This ^^. Seeing lots of parallels with Skylines II launch (Developer and Publisher relationship) which, a year later, still does not have full modding support.
Now, I have no way of knowing the individuals and their voicing of concerns, but at the end of the day they work for Asobo - and there is some blame there for this launch.
But we will never know, will we? I read somewhere about 10 something million users of 2020 at some stage. You are hearing from a fraction of people who are sick and tired of this trend of releasing broken things. I am happy to see more and more people stopping to accept game releases like this as new normal and start voting with their wallets - be it just not purchasing or refunding. Every game released today is in various stages of being EA, Alpha or Beta and the shift in user perceptions regarding this is very welcome IMO.
It would be fun if a study was possible to see how many potential newcomers to the platform/genre were turned off cause of the ongoing issues and will not return and how much money was lost in MP purchases and Asobo/MS commission over 4 year lifespan of this game.
There is also entire thread about how this, lets call crisis, is being missmanaged by lack of effective communication which is more than 3 senteces long. It has been 3 days - and I could probably type out all updates and that single video update into transcript no larger than A5 piece of paper.
With little to do but look at the loading screens, I had plenty of time to read loads of threads on these forums and in my estimate there is no dev bashing. There is some displaced anger at the community team - but IMHO that’s the consequence of poor communication. I feel for them - they are between a rock and a hard place; and I think everyone will agree that this is not a launch anyone hoped for, yet quite a few predicted and expected.
