A Wild Surprise! Airliners

FS2024, my version. I have a pretty mediocre setup. I run a laptop, with an RTX 2080S and ONLY 16GB of RAM. I’ve only been having an amazing time so far in the sim, as opposed to all the complaints I’m seeing here and on the media. Yes sometimes the terrain loads slow or the cockpit looks goofy for 20 seconds, but they’re just teething problems. This will be a great sim, it has insane potential, but it will take a while to adjust!

After flying around my city (non PG) and being absolutely awestruck at the accuracy of the building placement and terrain data (my dad included, watching over my shoulder), I decided to check out an airliner. Goodness gracious, did the 747 get an upgrade or what?!

Just look at the lighting and kreuger flap details.

And the detailing on the reverse thrust cascade vane (blocker doors are animated too)

Note the seat numbering is all correct too. From First class all the way to the back! Lufthansa would be proud.

How about the 787?

I don’t think the 787-10 got the same love as the 747. The upgraded version for MSFS 2024 is very buggy, default liveries load with errors, there is no wingflex (wings are fixed in place), landing gear animations are rubbish. Landing gear sinks a little into the ground.

Honestly, there are so many bugs that I’m thinking these problems are only appearing to me because of some problem with my MSFS 2024. But if not, the state of this 787 is very bad. The 2020 ported version is much better than this one.

The 787 is doing quite well thank you.

I purchased the LCE and am still waiting for that to arrive, so I’m running off Game Pass standard edition in the meantime which means I don’t have 787 access yet. Hopefully later on today I will have it and I can check it out!

I will say though, on the first day I used FS2024 with the streaming issues, I had similar issues with other aircraft (wonky animations and low poly models and bad textures). I would say the 787 is massively upgraded, but I need to wait to confirm! My sim is running very well now on my mid-end system, I’ll report back when I get the 787 :+1:t3:

Man you are so right, people just gave up on the game not even 2 days after release and asked for refunds, now that the servers are running better, The game looks SOOO much better than msfs 2020 (on my xbox series s).

Of course there are a lot of bugs but they will be fixed soon
