A2A Aerostar 600

Definitely turbocharged piston power plants at high elevation or for mountain flying! Suppose once the 600 is out, at some point down the line would not be inconceivable to have a turbo version once the basic airframe is settled. Of course it would not be an exact model of any single specimen, but lots of GA aircraft have received turbo kits over the years, so why not an Aerostar? Of all the models on my wish list, an Aerostar and a C210 are both at the top and coming soon, so I will be a very happy camper (not that these two models will be comparable, but I have lots of fond memories of family trips in 210s and we may be getting a turbo 210).

It’s out! Buying now! :3

Gah! Just in time for my 5 day holiday weekend!

50 dollars for an early access GA twin?? Dont really care if its A2A. Thats just way too expensive. Since its another Piper, I guess they reused some gauges as well..

Wow, that was fast! A2A said the release would be in July, but I didn’t expect July 1st!

Looks awesome!

I think it looks much nicer from the outside to be honest.

Can see that the additional requirements on walkaround are going to annoy the few users that want a high fidelity plane like an A2A model, but don’t want to have to remember to move the chocks or check the oil levels.

Starts and runs nice though, even though I have a dodgy battery and right prop per my ā€˜used’ config. Let it sit and idle for 10 minutes, but don’t have time to fly it today :frowning:

It’s so fun to hand fly.

So does that mean the price is expected to go up?

For all the A2A fans out there, I would hope not.

So, it’s great, really it is. But it’s not BlackSquare. The mantle really has been passed - this release confirms that for me. Second best is still pretty good, but I’m still reeling from the Starship and this, good as it is, is just not close to being up there with it. But it’s great!

(And yes, I know it’s early access but it’s not that early.)

I doubt it. A2A Accu-sim prices have pretty much always been the same across all their aircraft. For $50 it’s really good for an early access in my opinon.

Will probably pick it up later today, watching Murph’s stream on it now.
Hoping it embodies the same ā€œmagicā€ as the Comanche.

The AeroStar is exact same price the Comanche was in 2023. Pretty good deal either way.

Interesting. I was blown away by the Starship. Really love it. I don’t need another twin BUT it is still A2A so still tempted as the price is really good.

Hey, it’s still really worth getting. No regrets here.

The Starship and Aerostar are apples and oranges and I don’t mean that in quality. Two totally diffrent aircraft.

Absolutely.

If anyone is interested in an official Simbrief profile for this aircraft be sure to vote on the official Navigraph forums. If it gets enough votes they will usually make a profile for it as they did with the Comanche.
