I’ve only used 2024 intermittently. Hoping things will be a bit more stable.
As of now I’m not sure what the benefit is. Ground textures look nice up close but hardly a selling point. And at night every light on the ground looks like a 5000k led shining up at me.
For the first time I had a bad experience flying the Comanche in MSFS 2024 last night. I just crashed and got set “back on track” using time compression in calm weather. Never had this happen before ind MSFS 2020 or 2024. I use time compression all the time. The AP of the Comanche has some problems staying on course in bad weather conditions, but having the plane crash for no reason…
On xbox in 2024 and on my last flight was using the KLN 90B for the first time, but now on loading it’s off but I’m unable to turn it back on (with mouse left+right click or rotate the brightness nob)
reset cash and now ok
but is still not randomly some times changing heading either 1 or 10 degrees with mouse on Heading select. Making impossible to select properly
Native FS2024 version is coming … but not for free. $14.99 for existing owners. A little disappointing but A2A is one of two developers that whatever they do it’s always worth the money.
Gotta say I’m still a bit of a grinch when it comes to the native 2024 walkaround system, I still vastly prefer the view-based system A2A did for the 2020 Comanche.
That being said, I will gladly pay for an updated Comanche! Looks like some significant work has been put into the 2024 update and that’s worth my $20ish CDN.
Flyboy Sims Rans S6S has a mix of both because it is modeled in a way that allows you to move the interior camera outside of the plane and interact with walkaround elements. As a result, you could set up custom views to move to each of the exterior walkaround inspection points and basically have the 2020 Comanche-style preflight in a 2024-native aircraft.
Is the G5 finally being implemented? Please, please, avoid the Asobo original G5… I would appreciate it if they would customize it at least like the G5 applied to Flysimware’s Sierra C24R.
Agree. Seems like it had more gravitas. I wonder if all the same failure modes can be visually modeled or are otherwise detectable in the native walkaround. Sumping fuel, checking oil, and wiggling the control surfaces notwithstanding. Maybe it is, hard to know for sure.
I’m curious if A2A will bring over some of the fun little extras that can be found during the walkarounds. IE - the occasional rag in the engine cowling.
Currently in 2024 there’s a way to skip the walkaround and jump in the cockpit with chocks and pins removed - will this also remove the rags and such (if they exist in the 2024 version)?
However, as much as I whine and moan about the 2024 walkaround, I’ve learned live with it (such as with the 600) or skip it entirely (like with most other aircraft), so I’m not going to let it ruin my fun.
I quite like the tablet-free, more immediate walkaround in 2024 on the Aerostar, but I will definitely miss the towbar on the Comanche if that is no longer going to be an option.
I will buy the update, but as my original purchase was on marketplace, does that mean I will have to wait another 6 months+, while others get to enjoy it who purchased direct?
