… on now for a couple for weeks.
So basically the Comanche then.
It certainly doesn’t hurt! Granted, it is too soon for the Aerostar
My question is: Who doesn’t already own the Comanche?
Yeah, that was my, obtuse, point. It’s almost a pointless sale. Anyone interested in it will probably already have it. It’s probably just to drum up attention to get people to actually buy the Aerostar, even though it’s not on sale.
The best price was last year’s black friday sale at $29.99 though
Just to answer your question, you’re probably right that most people who would be interested already have it, but I actually don’t. I got the Just Flight Warrior II before the Comanche came out when it seemed like A2A was done developing, and I have the Blackbird/Milviz C310R as well. I fly mostly warbirds, so couldn’t justify the cost when I have 2 GA planes that work quite nicely, even though I’m sure the Comanche is awesome. Now that it’s on sale I’m tempted to pick it up.
My post was somewhat ‘tongue-in-cheek.’
The Comanche has been sitting atop Baracus250’s ‘Top Ten’ list pretty much since it’s been released.
Totally fair point. I’ve been looking at it for quite some time thinking “if only A2A did sales”…
Today’s your day!
Do we know if there’s going to be a separate MSFS 2024 native Comanche? I know in November they said on their forums that there hasn’t been a decision made yet on whether to do a native version
I just don’t want to pick up the current 2024 compatible one only to then buy a whole new native one (unless they’ve detailed an upgrade plan?)
Well they just released a dedicated 2024 installer for the Comanche so very much hoping so … I also seem to remember they mentioned on forum the other day about getting to work on it. Why don’t you ask on their forum? Cheers!
Ooh, good idea
I’ll report back if i hear anything from them!
Heard back from them ~ no plans for a native 2024 version in the near future
I got it last night. Can’t pick fault with it but personally, I’m having a hard time detecting any difference between it and the new Carenado PA-28. I certainly don’t blame the plane or those who recommended it — it simply seems that, unless you’re a real-world GA pilot, you’re not really primed to pick up the tell-tale nuances that make a study-level GA aircraft stand out (I’ve only ever flown airliners in the sim, save for the default Cessnas and Diamonds).
Hopefully the differences will reveal themselves as I fly it more. I only did a very short hop (EGBB-EGKK — testing three new additions with a single flight!) and the conditions were calm. Still figuring out the AP and the general workings.
I want to react to this, but I am just sad that you’re unable to see the myriad of detailed ways that A2A modeled (and I am not just speaking of the physical model) their aircraft.
Just run the starter with the magnetos off and listen to the engine as it actually runs through the compression of each cylinder in order. You don’t get that in other aircraft in the sim, and that is just one detail.
Turn on the rotating beacon and you’ll actually hear the mechanical beacon’s motor whirring around.
It is totally sad that you can see or hear these things, because they are truly awesome!
The free Carenado PA-28 indeed is a nice appetizer, but I was quite shocked reading this and I thought to myself how on earth is that even possible?
I attribute this to flying airliners so I’m likely not currently sensitive to the nuances of something a lot smaller and more intimate. As I say, I don’t for a second believe the plane is inferior to the Carenado PA-28 in functionality — however after a single flight, I’m struggling to perceive the handling differences. I flew the Carenado straight after and the controls felt very similar (although the A2A did feel better, to be fair).
I have plenty of time to familiarise myself with the PA-24 and I hope/expect the differences will become more apparent over time. This isn’t me slating the plane — it’s saying that I’m not sufficiently qualified right now to properly assess the advantages a complex GA aircraft offers. This is perhaps why I initially felt the Tomahawk would better suit my needs.
Yeah, I understand how you feel, but, as an engineering teacher at a small college, I always told my students you can’t know what you don’t know… please… ask if you don’t completely understand what’s in front of you. He likely doesn’t know to listen for the pistons or any of those details you are so aware of because of your own experience and attention to detail. How could he if he’s never experienced it? To him, yeah, pretty cool structure to look at, nice that the doors open and I’m not forced to jump out of the plane, yeah, there’s that buzzy thing up front that propels me forward if I make it more buzzy. He’s going to need more time flying both to really start noticing differences in detail. A couple of short flights is definitely not going to point it out to the uninitiated.
Me! I started with MSFS not long ago, so I would appreciate if the A2A Comanche would be on sale on the Marketplace too… unfortunately, it is not. I wonder if A2A will also go on sale on marketplace soon.
