[A319, A320, A321] Fenix High-Fidelity Aircraft

Have they 100% stated this will also release on the xbox?

No It cant run on XBOX as I understand it, as it uses an out side of the sim type set up. I might be wrong however.

No worries it was wishful thinking to start with

What about 2D cockpit instruments to trigger in separate windows. For home cockpit builders??? Does the Fenix have that???

You know listening to Jorg on the last update. He does seem really passionate to try and get both the XBOX and PC versions on par add-on wise.

So I wouldn’t lose hope of them trying to find away. Of Course it is not only his decision, but if this way of developing becomes popular I would think at some point the means to make it happen would at least be looked at. Of course the SDK will eventually mature and the sim too, and then at that point the Fenix may very well be able to run entirely with in the sim (the PMDG will), or they make a version for the XBOX, it all depends I guess on time and money and what’s possible platform/sim wise.

I really do hope it does happen for Xbox simmers, that want this level of plane.

From my understanding they will run big parts of the simulation outside MSFS.
AFAIK it is not possible to run other external applications on the Xbox besides the game. So it’s not really a problem of the SDK, but a Problem of how Xbox is designed.

Asobo would have to find a way to make it literally 1:1 or find a way to convert it themselves. If you look in the Fenix Sim Team’s Common Questions section then you’ll see they stated at this time they’re not interested in releasing on Xbox(this is because they use exterior programs to help the simulation).

“Will you make this available on XBOX?
Unfortunately not, this is PC only.”

Yes agree completely. I was just saying you never know what may happen down the line. Given how popular the Fenix will be.

And you are still missing the point

And of course we all do exactly the same…

This is the first time Fenix is disappointing to my eyes.
The real surfaces do not look like that. The buttons look like a dog was chewing on them and like everything is covered in glue or something similar.

I hope it would not be that noticeable later on

Can’t comment on the real surfaces, having never seen the cockpit IRL let alone being THAT close to the buttons.

I was surprised myself at the amount of wear and tear being modelled, but in saying that, I love the older GA cockpits that are on the go that are scuffed, scratched, and with paint damage.

Personal preferences, what’s a developer to do?

From a day-to-day use and a practical zoom point of view, those buttons will not be so noticeable I’m guessing. Some pilots will never un-see them though. Some pilots are just waiting on reliable fully modelled systems and won’t care about the ‘physical’ look and feel. Some pilots will focus more on the outside.

Someone said that they wouldn’t be surprised if a mod came by and ‘newed up’ and cleaned the cockpit at some point.

The new pics look great and very realistic. This is in low light, close up with reflected light. At a normal viewing distance with more direct light, it will look very different. Too early to judge, but looking great so far.

Wow this Fenix Airbus attention to detail in the virtual cockpit is incredible!

99,9% of simmers think like me. I’m not who missed the point… ask to gamepad fans for that…

No, they don’t.

Please stay on topic.

Asking for playability with a gamepad is valid, although it may not be the most immersive/easiest option.

On a personal side note:
I am using a gamepad for tiller functions while my shared cockpit buddy uses a gamepad (+mouse+keyboard)
for flying the FBW 32nx. Although more difficult, due to the limited joystick physical range, it is possible. I would expect the Fenix aircraft to handle gamepads like other existing airliners do, as it is just like any other input device that has axis.
Can’t wait for the Fenix aircraft to become available, although the wear shown in the screenshots may be a little much for my taste.

Depending on which plane - Fenix or PMDG - will get heated seats with wolf fur this one will become my favorite. (Not real fur of course, but faux fur.)
