I‘d like to attract your attention on the climb performance of the A320 in the current build (1.12.13.0). In earlier versions, the performance used to produce rocket like climbs, now it is the opposite. Once airborne, the aircraft (at moderate weights) has difficulties accelerating and climbing to cruising altitude.
This might be related to the simulation of icing. Once there is icing potential, the effect seems to be always modeled as severe icing. ENG and WING A/ICE usage helps a little but not much.
Anyway I hope, that the performance issue is solved soon.
I’ve noticed this as well. As soon as I hit icing, I fall out of the sky. Even with all my anti-icing turned on, I can’t maintain altitude, even at full throttle.
I’ve also noticed the same issue with the default A320 in particular. For me, it climbed like a rocket at first, then after the first few patches it climbed more realistically. When I say realistically, I mean it would take me roughly 15-20 minutes from takeoff to cruise. Ever since the USA update, it now takes me anywhere from 30 to nearly 40 minutes to reach cruise, and that’s if I can even reach my desired cruising altitude. Past FL250, it just does not want to climb, so good luck reaching FL380 or anything like that. Like you posted too, I’ve even set my payload to really low and it doesn’t climb any better.
I was so happy to see the AP got fixed in the December 22 update, but of course it still has terrible climb performance making it frustrating to fly. So, here I sit for now the second month still not able to complete a flight with the defualt A320. And before you say it, yes I’ve tried the FBW mod.
