Download the developer mod, it has a TOD, and works much better than stabile one.
Guys, it seems Iām missing something very basic with the installation. I watched a couple of Youtube vlogs and the A32NX sound is totally different from what I have.
As per instruction, I downloaded the mod from the following URL:
https://github.com/flybywiresim/a32nx/releases/latest/download/flybywiresim-a32nx.zip
This one is a 230mb file unzipped (in itās current form)
Pasted the A32NX folder from the zipped package into E:\Program Files (x86)\MSFS Packages\Community (Yes, packages are not on C drive due to space limitation)
Now my A320 sounds mostly like default with some minor effects here and there⦠far from what I saw on Youtube.
I donāt believe the intent of the mod was just to update sound,
although they have dabbled a bit in it. The sound has changed from update to update.
Go here, download their installer (you can point it to your folder). Get the developer version, it gets updated at least daily, so stay on top of it. The sounds will probably be different to what you have.
I didnāt necessarily mean that the mod was intended purely as an upgrade to sounds, but since it sounded so different I thought I may not be running the correct build or something.
I realized itās the Development version that I saw being used elsewhere, I had the stable build.
Thanks for your help!
If you want to follow the altitude constraints of each of the waypoints, you set your altitude to pass that and push the knob to engage managed climb mode.
This is much more consistent on descent and approach than it is on climb, though. So when I want to descent and my next waypoint in the STAR is at 15,000 ft, for example. I just target my altitude knob to 3000 feet (if thatās the glideslope intercept altitude) and push the altitude knob to managed descent.
What it does is, itāll show DES as active mode in the FMA, and ALT CST in armed magenta colour. The aircraft will descent and will hold on the altitude constraint until it passes the waypoint, then it continues the descent again until the next waypoint altitude constraint. You donāt have to do anything at this stage, itāll descent according to the flight plan.
Same goes for departing though, you can just set a higher altitude than the constraint, and itāll stop climbing at the constraint altitude until it passes the waypoint and itāll continue the climb afterwards.
But this function rarely works on departure. Most of the time I canāt get it to work, other times, by some miracle, it works. But on descent, it always works for me.
And I am using the latest master development version of the A32NX mod.
Thats the way to doā¦
But sometimes strange waypoints like USR, User or first correct limits like 3000 - 2000 -1500ft and then FL370 appear in the flight plan.
Usually you can edit the limits, not here. Maybe itāll come after all.
