Ability to delete logbook entries

There are flights that are just cluttering the pilot log. I would like to remove some. It would be great to have such possibility.

And preferebly not one at a time, like FSX/P3D. Ideally you would be able to hold Shift or Ctrl and select blocks of dead entries

Agree, really need this.

Is it possible to correct the contents of Profile and or Pilot Log

Support this 100%!

Seconded. And as I said in another thread, I would also like the ability to completely reset a pilot’s profile and logbook, and to be able to keep multiple of them. Would be handy when you just want to mess around or have someone else fly.

Absolutely. In fact, I can’t believe that they released MSFS without an editable log book.

I also am interested. I spent some time on the ground loading about 30 different default airports to take a look at them. Now my logbook is full of zero time entries that I would like to edit out.

Yes. As it stands right now with all the bugs and autopilot driving people into the ground there should be a way to even wipe the logbook clean. Once everything acts as it should in the sim - that’s when I’d like to start anew with my logbook. Having several available would be great, as the above noted examples give on why this should be so.

Also, it does not log water landings. There is an aircraft in the default list that does that :slightly_smiling_face:

I ‘landed’ on the Amazon River just for fun and it wasn’t until I landed at the airport in Belem, Brazil at the mouth of the river that it finally registered a landing.

Couldn’t agree more. There needs to be a way of deleting ‘flights’ that are just control tests, graphic settings tests, or just a look at an airfield.

This new innovative simulation is fresh and different. I have spent time in cockpits learning about both the simulation, and familiarizing myself with both aircraft and airports that I frequent. All have accumulated to a significant number of logbook entries that have nothing to do with air time. Addressing this request should be of high priority. Flying is flying. Familiarization is not flying and should not be in the log.

I can see why the developers considers it a good idea to keep a non-editable record of your activities - I don’t agree, but I can see why someone might reason that way.

But I absolutely do not understand why “flights” with no flying are logged in the logbook. Entries with 0.0 hours should not be there. That is how it works in real life too; sitting in the aircraft on the ground without flying is not loggable hours.

A real world pilot’s logbook is added to after each flight, there is plenty of space for notes etc. I don’t think we should have any delete function, but there certainly ought to be a “switch” to allow an entry to be made or not.

For instance - my father was an Army helicopter pilot and his last army flight actually ended in a “walk away” from a cat 5 crash - that entry was recorded in his log book with details - currently msfs ignores a crash

Even my own real world logbooks record more details of my stick time (gliders) than msfs records - aerobatics included. So we would need to physically make inputs after landing (or crashing) but that is all part of flying. Around version 5 I even created my own handwritten logbooks for flightsim and totted up times manually with one of those things you put data to paper with. What were they called now? Oh yes, pen and paper

And if you have ever been in a 60’s and 70’s Brit army chopper, you’ll often see note written on the perspex windows using chinagraph pencil. Now that would be a cool feature - to scribble notes on the door window or canopy glazing (bell 47
).

I fully agree with this wish list entry - logbooks need real flexibility.

Yes, to logbook editing. Have multiple crashes based on control failure (controls not responding on 787) and want to edit out those flights as well. And I don’t think it’s recording my flight time correctly either. In real life, pushback starts the logbook entries and successful gate arrival stops it. Don’t think LB is recording correctly. But want to edit out my bad flights because it’s not me but the sim.

Sometimes you just want to check out an addon but not fill up your logbook with random stuff and a bunch of 0.0 flights.

There are many of this same topic already. Personally, I think it belongs in the bugs and issues forum because it is such a mess of a log book and really needs a complete rework.

I would hope also that they dont follow the FSX/P3D model where you can only delete one row at a time. The Shift/Ctrl/hilite method didnt work like it did in windows explorer. You can imagine how many entries you get, just starting up the sim to mess with things, and not fly an inch, and then have to delete all the flights, ONE by ONE, lol

I would like to have an export function so I can do an analysis in Excel for example. Currently it is difficult to track the visited “star” airports for example.

Well, like I said that if they gave us the ability to edit it (one thing) then it would cover most people’s requests. Either way it needs to have a complete rework since it’s the most flawed log book in MSFS history.
