I have an airport scenery that was purchased in 2020 Marketplace, it seems to be incompatible with 2024 and is causing that airport to render without buildings and severely broken terrain.
MSFS2024 downloaded and installed this automatically from the marketplace conversion, and I can’t disable it within 2024, thus I have this airport totally ruined and no way to get it working.
All 2020 imported Marketplace add-on’s need a way to disable incase of incompatibility.
When the Marketplace for FS2024 opens you will be able to.
To disable it in the meantime, place an empty folder with the same name as the addon in your FS2024 Community Folder, and start the sim.
i thought the same thing, i have some 2020 airplane/airport light replacement mods and no way to disable/delete them just in case they could interfere with 2024
I’ll try that… I had tried emptying the folder in the ‘streamed’ folder, but MSFS just re-downloaded. Will try your suggestion when I have a little time to check it out. Thanks.
Emptying the folder in streamed won’t block its use, as you noted it just re-downloads. The workaround for now is to create an empty folder of the same name in community to make it ignore the streamed version.
I thought I saw someone wrote a more elegant script to create a content.xml to do the same thing but I haven’t explored that.
Wouldn’t msfs addonlinker work for this? In 2020 I always moved my addons out of the community folder and used the linker instead. You can even moved and link Marketplace addons with it.
Can you change the location of the streamed packages? I don’t want all of this on my C drive. You can move the regular packages (with usercfg.opt) and install FS on a drive of your choosing but don’t see a way to put all this streaming activity on a different drive. Please tell me I am just missing something.
