Ability to load airways in navigation equipment

It seems that whenever inputting a route in either the 747 or 787 in MSFS, for example:
KJFK to EGLL
I want to begin on the J79 airway up to LFV, so I input LFV to LSK1R on the Routes page, and the J79 airway automatically appears.

HOWEVER, it seems to directly take me to LFV and NOT along the airway, and also misses out on CRAIL, HOFFI, CUTOX etc. (other waypoints on the airway).

This seems to be the case for ALL airways, and I was wondering if this is a sim issue or if I’m doing something wrong when inputting the route in the FMC?

This is an sim-limitation and not implemented - you don´t anything wrong! You must enter the waypoints manually for each airway segment.

With the G1000 and GNS 430, which are both able to load airways in real life, cannot have airways loaded into them in MSFS.

Are there any plans to add the ability to load airways into GA navigational equipment?

Working title has mods for most Garmin sets, there is also a GNS mod called pms50-gns530 for the 530. Google is your friend.

Most (if not all) of the WT mods don’t support airways yet either. The CJ4 Mod possibly might.

I already use them but they don’t support airways.

They are waiting for Asobo to implement airway functionality or something.
