Incorrect system time can actually cause a lot of problems on Windows, I can’t say exactly why but I’ve seen it in my work as a systems administrator as well.
I tried here and it didn’t make any difference (it took 9 mins, it usually takes 7). I suppose in my case it’s the distance to the server or something…
My computer was 1 minute ahead.
From a 14 minute loading, it now loads in about 3 after syncing.
I booted the sim 3x to confirm.
Thank you.
This is exactly what I’m seeing as well, right down to the stuttering video. It loads a lot quicker for me disconnecting the Lan Cable and reconnecting. I’ve also noticed my machine which Run at 100% CPU before and took 35 minutes, now runs around 77% with the LAN Disconnect Option.
Oh wow, what a simple fix. Now loading well before the video completes its first pass from 10-15 mins. Thanks so much for posting. Zendesk were absolutely no use and in fact made things worse by having me do a cloud reset and this was all it was. Amazing. Now just to rebind the controllers again. Hopefully the upcoming update fixes it for everyone.
Big Thanks to @BernardBx for the original post.
You need correct systemtime for everything that is encoded f.e. with SSL or
for authentification/security tokens.
This has done it, amazing. Thank you!
Syncing the clock did it for me as well.
Such a weird issue.
My Steam Aviator packages are NEVER fully downloaded
FS2024 nstalled on my C: drive by default. Packages still don’t download after multiple reboots and the percentage of download stays the same (See image for partially downloaded packages). My PC clock is synced. Major airports in Canada (some in USA) are invisible or melted (CYYZ-YWE-YWR-YYC-YVR etc.) And please don’t tell me it’s a Steam issue, Steam says it’s a Microsoft issue!!!
Bought on Steam, Windows 11 (each updated) Internet connection: min. 200 Gbps, i9-12900k, RTX 4070ti, Ram:32 (never goes above 70%)
Can you help me? Thanks!!!
It work perfectly. Thanks
Resyncing system clock does not work for me, still 35 Minutes load time. The only way that I can get it to load quickly, is the disconnecting LAN Cable Trick before launching the game and plugging it in when it says Internet Connection Required. Only then will it load in a couple of minutes. I think we are dealing with 2 issues.
Take a look at your network card driver and disable IPV6. It seems to help some people to have access.
It seems like there may be a couple of different issues or workarounds. For me, the cable one didn’t work but the clock one did.
This actually works! My startup time went from 13 minutes to 2,5 The Windows clock hadn’t synced since early September for whatever reason.
EDIT: the second time it took less than two minutes to load from the start of the intro video
Thanks,
Didn’t work for me, so put it back. The only way I can load in a couple of minutes is disconnecting the network cable, starting game and then plugging cable back in when it says no internet connection. Now I’ve done some monitoring behind the scenes, on the 35 Minute load, My CPU is Tanked at 100% constant. My Hard Drive is reading and writing data over and over, 35mb/sec every second throughout the whole loading process, it goes on and then off and so on and so on Constantly reading and writing the same amount of Data. On the Quick Load, my CPU is not as stressed, runs at 77%, My hard drive activity is at a minimum.
On the 35 Minute load, after clicking the icon, I get a whirly circle down the bottom Right. It starts at 9% when the game comes up. Takes ages to get to loading packages and then get’s stuck at 5/1012 for ages. Once it gets past this, its slow getting to 1012. Once that has finished, it loads world data from 51% to 68% and again gets stuck for ages
On the Quick Load, No Whirly Circle and the percentage starts at 0%, goes up fairly quickly. It starts at 7/1012 but whizzes up. Loading world data, goes up to 58%, but then suddenly jumps to 84% and the game starts.
Really odd.
UPDATE: When I use the Pull the Network Cable method to get it to work, it says VFS Activating Package and it loads fast. If I don’t pull the network cable, I just get activating packages, and it loads slow in 35 minutes. I did another test, and started the game without pulling the network cable, and it was really slow as usual. Whilst it said Activating Packages, I pulled the Cable again, waited for it to complain of no internet and plugged back in, it said VFS again and loaded in a couple of minutes.
Oh my freaking… Unbelievable but yes, this works for me as well!
wow… adding another +1 to syncing the time fix. Now it takes about 3 min or less.
Win11 23H2 22631.4460
Thank you, Bernard! 4.5 minutes down to 2.5 once I synched my time!
As this topic is under the bug section …
How does the “bug logged” and “workaround” (tag) process work?
IMHO by now it is evident that the “client OS time deviation” condition triggers this and most likely many other problems. Besides that there already is an official FAQ entry related to this issue (a manual workaround).
So who will confirm (ensure) that this problem will get addressed (fixed) at the source (code) of the problem? After all, it is a “self inflicted denial of service attack” embedded inside the sim.
Basically … does anybody (from the team) know about the status of an “official bug entry”?
In the meantime tell zendesk to they can hand out a much better probable solution rather than the usual destructive delete cloud save nonsense they had me do.
