Add waypoints and my flight plan disappears?

I file my VFR flight plan. Then I add a waypoint [point of interest] to look at during my flight and then when I look at my VFR map when I get in the aircraft the flight plan does not show up?
If however I just do a simple A to B then the flight plan does show up.
What am I missing here?
I am only flying a Cessna 172. I am not using any FMS.

POIs with labels greater than 6 characters cause the FPL leg to disappear on the MFD and the VFR map. The FMS will still follow the plan but portions will not be visible.

I’m not using the FMS. Just the simple VFR map? I’m only flying a Cessna 172.

The VFR map has the same defect. It will not show legs to POIs or waypoints with labels greater than six characters.

Since this started with Sim Update 3 will it be fixed in a future update since I would call it regression?
