Assuming you cannot get your money back – too late etc etc, is there an option where you can TRANSFER (or give away) your “unwanted” License to someone else ?
Yes, its connected to your xbox / microsoft account, but maybe there is no reason why you should not be able to “give it away” to another account, and transfer it.
Its not as if you are wanting MONEY back !!
Maybe a transfer for a small Ms-Store administration fee… (MORE money for MS-Store !! )
Does anybody know how something like this works legally? Is software any different than buying an actual item from an online store for example? Just out of intrest.
I haven’t bought any add-on for MSFS to date, neither am I interested in all the single engine mosquitos out there on the market place at the moment. When I will buy something in the future (ATR maybe next year), I’ll make sure its worth my money. I have made that mistake with X-plane add-ons before, there is a lot of overpriced junk out there.
I think you Guess wrong. Its a License Transfer, – “similar” to when you buy a car, and transfer the license to someone else, so they “own” it instead of you.
If its done through the MS-Store, how can it be “Piracy” ???
you can only get your money back when it does not work at all, i believe, its not ala
steam witha 2 hour period, unfortunately.
so research has to be done before a buy.
I guess it‘s down to local law. In Germany I was told any software with a broken seal (in CD-ROM/DVD times) or any activated serial is excluded from the 14 days right to return a product. Probably that‘s how it works in the whole EU. I don‘t know US law. But I assume it‘s quite similar.
That’s like buying a piece of clothing from an online store but not being able to take it out of the packging to see if it fits without voiding the return policy .
That’s like buying a piece of clothing from an online store, NOT reading the clearly displayed NO RETURN policy, wearing it, , and then trying to return it.
Bottom Line : No Returns from MS-STORE – Move on …
Dont know about the legal side, but usually try to buy at well known stores that have a good support.
I got two refunds already because i was very unhappy with the product, even if they clearly said “NO REFUNDS” during the purchase. One time was at Simmarket, the other was at Contrail.
But, this is definitely not the norm, but if you are a good customer and ask politely, there are chances you get a refund.
In the case of Marketplace, your chances are VERY low… they cant even track what you have bought, because you just buy the “Flightsim Credits” or how it is called… thats so stupid and onother reason not to buy from Marketplace at all.
That’s yet another advantage of buying direct from the Developer. Typically they have more “customer friendly” policies, as they wish to retain customers for future purchases, and also gain a good name in the community.
I just don’t buy any add-ons at all, the temptation hasn’t really be there either as most planes on the marketplace are either small GA or obviously not study level. I’ll wait for MSFS to mature and something interesting to come along.
It is weird though how it works with software, you don’t really know what you buy and how it works out on your PC until try it out. Unless there is a proper review online maybe, still someone needs to be the first. Just don’t be the first is the message here I guess .
