Advice Required Re New Hardware Choices

Now I have the sim finally running great with my new pimax super, it is now time to turn my attention to my VR cockpit.

Originally built as a dedicated VR cockpit for the DCS A10C Warthog, I find that since I discovered that study level aircraft of similar quality to DCS offerings were available on FS2024, I bought into 2024, the A2A Comanche and laterlly, the Blacksquare turbine duke. I have not used DCS since.

Primarly attracted to DCS and the hog for the real life technical aspects of flying, not the combat, I find the appeal of flying an in depth aircraft over real terrain and in real time weather in 2024 far more appealing than flying the hog over made up towns and villages.

Consequently I rarely use DCS these days and now find my hog cockpit unsuitable.
So looking to tear apart my hog cockpit, sell off the warthog stick and throttles and buy myself a yoke and throttle quadrant suitable for three lever per engine GA light twins such as the turbine duke.

I think the honeycomb bravo throttle unit is probably the unit to have, unsure of the quality though. Want the throttles to be smooth and not flimsy feeling.

Not sure on the control yoke though. Again, it needs to have a realistic feel to the hand and a smooth damped movement, not bothered about looks as I wont be able to see it. Any recommendations that are not saitek?

I have the crosswind pedals..

Thanks.

Bye Bye Warthog cockpit..

After a lot of looking, finally settled on the honeycomb alpha yoke and the bravo throttle, so it is time to tear apart my hog cockpit.

Plenty of buttons and switches but I am thinking of replicating the Turbine Duke left switch panel. Problem is I can only find three way rocker switches for the gen and ignition switches of the On Off On variety and have no idea if the sim will accept a null signal as off. Cannot see how it would bind.

I’ve had an Alpha/Bravo for about 4 years now. They still work great, and having six axes on the Bravo is where it’s at for GA.

Are they as smooth and precise as the VKB STECS throttle I use for fast jets? Nope.
But they’re just fine.

I have the Alpha XPC (that’s the newer version with hall sensors) and just recently got the Sierra TPM. I can highly recommend the latter if you like flying small Cessna-type GA a lot. It feels very high quality and the trim wheel is great, as is the very sturdy flaps lever.

I also have the Warthog throttle and still use it for its buttons, hats, and switches.
Very useful in VR.
