Finally got the CL-415 doing the big fires but, when you have to go scoop off a lake and try and take off again you can’t because it’s to much weight and if you don’t have a full tank it won’t go to the drop zone. So some how they have to reduce load and maybe just have to do another mission. MSFS 2024 Xbox

I completed the first mission by scooping water this way: Land (but keep torque at 20% to avoid high rpm). Don’t scoop water immediately. Configure aircraft for takeoff: no flaps and trim set to TO. Go to the end of the lake and turn around. Accelerate, scoop and only fill water up to 60% Increase speed and when you are almost at lift up speed add the first (and second) flap and increase torque temporally to 110%, immediately decrease torque to 100% after getting out of the water.

I’ve not tried it myself yet but it might help you out

Yeah ok it seems if you don’t fill it up to 100% you don’t get the drop point. Anyway thanks and happy flying

I tried it last night and you’re right…a full load makes it pretty much impossible to get off the water. However, watching some videos, it seems you can still complete the mission by dropping a 50-60% load. The lady in your ear will complain but the blue ground target box should still be there at the fire location regardless of the tank levels on a scoop.

EDIT: Confirmed Pick up a half load and it’s much smoother to get off the water. Fly to the fire and they’ll give you a drop zone.
