I think it is a healthy thing to provide both sides of every coin. In this case the the A6M2 provides an option for players in countries other than the West. Which by the way the Grumman F-6f Hellcat was based on after the downed A6M2 was captured. This plane was initially better than other warbirds, particularly those on aircraft carriers - it had a long range and was light.

Memorial Day is also an American Remembrance Day, with Aeroplane Heaven being not being an American developer it’s not a well observed holiday outside of the United States.
Here in the UK for example, and much of Europe and the Commonwealth, Remembrance Day falls on November 11th, the US’ Veterans Day.
I am not sure this is the place for a tit for tat discussion to take place about who was more deserving in a war. Not to take away respect from your sentiments and sorrows please but everyone suffers in a war!
Agreed, I’d rather know whether it’s a good model or not, AH doesn’t exactly have the best record, and the aircraft being an unorthodox one doesn’t make it better either. Their Ae.45 has a lot of erroneous markings in the cockpit clearly translated verbatim from English into Czech for example.

A bit wrong on your Corsair facts. Development of the Corsair started in June 1938 and first flight was on 29 May 1940. More than 2 years before the Akutan Zero crashed in the Aleutian Islands. The Corsair was never based on the Akutan Zero. The Allied forces never based anything on the Zero. The main purpose of the captured zeros were to develop better tactics and superior fighters to defeat it.

The F6F first flight was the same month as the Akutan Zero crash, June 1942. The F6F benefited from improved tactics due the the captured Zero. The Allies learned to exploit the weaknesses of the Zero and avoid its strengths in combat. By the time the F6F entered combat, it was superior in speed, firepower and survivability to the Zero.

Let’s say some aircraft development choices give me a lot of pause about who to give any money or time of day. And Memorial Day is a heck of a good occasion to reflect on this
I am not doubting any persons nationalistic leanings and sympathies - I just don’t think it needs a discussion on here. This is a sim for whom developers make usable craft, airports etc, etc. What you prefer to buy is your private business entirely. I just do not think it is fair to jab at others who live in 2025, had nothing to do with events in 1939 - 45. We all like using this sim, otherwise why are we here, lets appreciate each other and the many wonderful things we can learn from each other. All aircraft including the A6M2 have value for a sim. If there wasn’t “the other side”, who would your p45’s and corsairs have fought? Where would the history be with respect to warbirds?
