Haven’t seen a thread for the Aeroplane Heaven’s latest release, the Hawker Fury and Hawker Nimrod Mk.II.
These aircraft are definitely the type of aircraft I enjoy flying in the sim so was a no brainer, for me, to get them.
The pack depicts both the Fury and Nimrod Mk.II (visually the Mk.II Nimrod is very similar to the Fury, with the addition of a tail hook and on some a long exhaust pipe extending back to the cockpit, for noise and flame reduction)
Overall I think it’s a very decent package. Both flying versions of the aircraft (though the Nimrod Mk.II isn’t currently flying) the HAC’s Nimrod Mk.II and Fury are depicted. For the purests I will say the the HAC’s Nimrod in real life doesn’t have the long exhaust pipe fitted and operates with a tail wheel not a tail skid as depected here.
Flight model feels realistic enough, there isn’t a lot of torque but it’s difficult to say whether that’s accurate or not and to be fair to Aeroplane Heaven there can be very few people to ask about handling characteristics. The start up procedure is well implanted too.
Some slight tweaks I’d like to see, I’ve noticed the heat blur from the Nimrod Mk.II exhaust is coming from the front and not at the end of the exhaust pipe and if you look back and down from the cockpit the rear of the aircraft isn’t modelled from that view.
But for the price point and the rarity of these aircraft, for me, they have been worth it.
