Any thoughts on this one? Not a lot of info on the description page about alternative avionics or any general feature other than textures/modeling. May be a what you see is what you get but not sure.
It saying it has stereo sounds as if thatâs not industry standard for ages is slightly worrying. I assume itâs the same sounds from the P3D build. They werenât terrible sounds, but they had a pretty bad loop at high RPM. Iâm waiting for a video review. All aircraft addons really need a trailer with engine sounds featured in various stages or itâs not a complete product listing in my mind, but many devs disagree.
Hi there,
just downloaded this plane on marketplace. I use Msfs 2020 (Steam version)
No matter what I try, the plane crashes after 5 min of casual flying (âoverstressedâ).
I used to be a real pilot and made my license in the late 90´s in germany. I flew Cessna, Piper, Robin and Diamond aircraft, so I know how to handle a flying machine like this.
Anyone else having this problem ?
A user on Avsim reported that the max flaps speed is messed up (at a minimum) and he got an over stress at 60kts. The user allegedly reported the issue to AH. I would encourage those here with the aircraft to also contact AH about this and any other issues they have. I do not believe that the developer reads forums.
I could not resist this plane, so I bought it. I had never even heard of this plane before, but now I am a rabid Rallye enthusiast. 100% fits into my aviation aesthetics.
Highlights:
Gorgeous visuals, and a palpable vibe in the cockpit (loving that duct tape on the right side).
Refueling button on the wing is a neat feature.
Fun to fly. Had the best landing Iâve had in perhaps any plane.
Sounds are great (until you change the throttle).
What I didnât like:
The airspeed indicator. I donât mean to be a little bâh, but it has no colored arcs and maxes at 300 knots. In fact at first I assumed it was in KM/h because of that. The ones I saw on IRL photos of Rallyes all max at 160 and have colored arcs.
Low speed behavior has some quirks. I turned off stress damage a long time ago because I know when Iâve sinned. BUT this thing handles very oddly when full flaps are in. It doesnât decelerate like youâd expect if you throw in full flaps and cut the throttle. Iâll need to test it a bit more so as to provide meaningful feedback to the team.
Sounds are strange at points when advancing the throttle.
Windshield scratches are excessive and distracting.
Dang, looks like thereâs more I didnât like about this plane. But I WANT TO LOVE IT because itâs just so â â â â cool. Iâm past the âgee I sure wish SWS would do a Rallyeâ phase (actually no Iâm not, SWS should do it). I really donât want to bring yet more criticism to the Aeroplane Heaven team, this model is really promising and I think it could be great. Honestly I donât know whatâs going on with Aeroplane Heaven, youâd think by this point they would learn but it seems to be the same old show with them again. I mean after so much fiery criticism from the most demanding users on Earth (Flight Simmers) youâd think they might consider slowing their dev cycle and focusing more on quality.
The aircraft received an update today and the overstress-issue is gone.
From now on, people all around the world will live together in love and peace!
Thank you
I checked out a bunch of Commodore instrument panels online. Looks hit or miss on colored bars on the AI, but most do seem to have some sort of green bar at least. I saw one with the bars and Vne colored in on the panel itself with what looked like magic marker lines. You could do the same in the instrument panel texture.
Are you flying in 2020 or 2024? In 2024, thereâs a bug on windshield scratches for 2020 aircraft. Hopefully fixed with SU1.
AH for some reason has all sorts of issues with their flaps. I have no idea why. They love to create the weirdest bugs.
Strictly 2020 for now. AH is truly mystifying. I think they should consider a more relaxed product development cycle, and also consider updating the crusty looking panel instruments. I could live with that since itâs so fun to fly and great looking, but whateverâs going on with the flaps is kind of a dealbreaker unfortunately.
Took the updated Rallye up for a quick spin, seems a bit better now. I really like this plane, itâs so cool and fun to fly! Itâs got tons of quirks, and the cockpit is a little jarring visually after spending time in the TBM850 which is 100% eye candy. But itâs so unique and strangely appealing!!
As IRL Iâm a fan of the Rallyes a friend made an improvement mod for me.
Itâs not perfect because more depends on AH will (and it seems they are satisfied with the plane as it is) but it solves a lot of issues and improves many things.
And bye bye AH flapsâŚ
Youâll find all infos in the .txt file included.
Have fun https://flightsim.to/file/88789/ah-socata-ms-893-rallye-mod
Edit:
Thereâs a small issue in the mod that causes it to appear with a strange name in the aicraft selection menu. But the mod works.
An update is in progress.
In the meantime, if you donât like it, all you have to do is to copy at least one .LocPak file from the original Rallye into the mod directory where the layout.json file is located, and update this layout.json by drag/drop it onto MSFSLayoutGenerator.exe.
The Rallye will now appear under its real name.
An update solving the name issue is available.
Internal/external wind sounds, âscreetchâ sound and particles effect when wheels are touching the ground were also added.
When I was in my late teens my best mate passed his PPL and we flew the clubâs Rallye all over Devon, Cornwall and Somerset.
One summers afternoon weâd been up around North Devon and followed the coast back to Dunster before heading south for Dunkeswell.
We were cruising along at 5000â. The Rallye is âsemi aerobaticâ, a mysterious term that no one quite knew the meaning of. My mate knew you could loop it as the club CFI had during one of his lessons!
It was a beautiful clear day with the vale of Taunton and the Blackdown hills spread out before us. Rick pushed the stick forward and the Rallye started to trundle down hill, picking up a little more speed. When we were indicating a magnificent 115 or so he started pulling back on the stick and up and up the nose went and in a shower of grass and sweet wrappers over the top we went.
I was looking directly upwards out of the cockpit canopy and out of the corner of my eye what appeared to be a rugby pitch was moving at high speed over the ground below us. As it crossed over the M5 motorway the ârugby pitchâ resolved itself into a Vulcan bomber going like the clappers at low levelâŚ
A truly great plane and a huge pity that AH with their awful modelling and texturing have released it.
Hey all, Iâve always been a fan of AHâs small planes (Swift especially) so I have long been considering picking this up, but the sounds are just a big no from me. Has anyone succeeded at mapping the sounds to another aircraft, and if so, which one works best? Iâm in FS2024, if it matters (I believe itâs in the FS2024 Marketplace as compatible at this point, but I would buy it from Orbx or somewhere else to ensure I could mod the sound files.)
The new Rallye mod.
In a single mod you have three versions (100hp/180hp/235hp) with batch files to make selection easy. Batch selection also between clear (original AH) and blue (JoeCRASSY creation) canopy tops.
The new Rallye 235 is awesome, not fast but powerful.
