Indeed, a loudspeaker, just needs it texture. You can follow the project here:

LOVELY absolute fantastic!!
I don´t know much about Aerosoft (the CRJ was a great plane that had superb visual quality and great flight physics) but I like what I see here in this video.
Aerosoft shows truly attention to detail, just the cockpit functions seem to be a bit limited.
Oh wow ARE THEY INSANE I have never seen anything THAT detailed and high-polygon and good looking!!

Now THAT`s a walk-around before starting the plane!
lol too bad it will be lacking in so many other areas that matter for a high quality addon. (LNAV / VNAV functionality, tracking nav line correctly in turns, basic systems depth, good support, etc). This is all just based on my experience with their CRJ and nothing more.
Yet, apart from me, there is simply nobody in the development team that works (or works) on both projects.
Aerosoft is not like PMDG which works on one project, we have multiple teams that are not connected in any way but the project manager. In fact, we have 20+ in progress at this moment and all of these are separated. If you check our preview forum you will see I try to introduce all team members for all projects.
Names and all. If you want email addresses we will provide them!
Would love that. And as project manager I’d think you’d want to get these things I mentioned with the CRJ fixed, and ensure your paying customers future releases (A330) will meet a certain standard and basic level of functionality. Your name is on them regardless of the internal ‘teams’ working on different projects that no one else sees, unless they visit your forum. And still that is a poor excuse for the varying level of quality Aerosoft is producing across it’s aicraft.
But don’t get me wrong, I hope the A330 is great, it’s a badly needed aircraft and deserves to be done right.
It will not be study-level?
Well we got a worthless aircraft from a certain “Captain” a few days ago that only looks good - but nothing else, because 90% of all knobs switches and systems are not simulated not functional and not clickeable…
Hm we will see how this Airbus turn out, but no matter the outcome at least we will always have PMDG, Fenix and FlyByWire to rely on AAA+ projects
The a330 in p3d was excellent. More than enough systems depth.if similar day one buy.
They have been working on it for almost two years. I would be both surprised and dissapointed if after all that time, it turned out not to be “deep enough” (whatever that means…).
To be honest, being an Aerosoft product, I´m more concerned about lack of post-release support than about lack of depth (since with a good implementation of SOPs I´m fine, I don´t need failures).
Areosoft has fallen off to me in the Flight sim world.
Now if its Trains and Buses, they got it
No more Aerosoft for me.
CRJ is 2 years old … 2 year old bugs not solved and when people ask then we simply get notified nobody is working on the bugs because they work in the next cash cow.
The same will happen with the 330 … believe me
Same, I’m not happy with the CRJ support / bug fixes either, and won’t buy anything else from Aerosoft.
Absolutely 100% agree, not happy with Aerosoft support at all, with CRJ and twin Otter. So I will not be a customer anymore. Their arrogance alone annoys me, no customer service at all. However I do believe the sales will still be high, as it will satisfy alot of fellow pilots/simmers, and once released dont expect any further updates or support (from my personal experience) Not all fellow simmers follow forums.
I know their A330 will be nothing like Fenix or even FBW, which I am a great supporter of. Not comparing PMDG because its Boeing (which I also Love)
I will give credit to Aerosoft they will defend the indefensible.
The way they handled the CRJ is definitively a bad sign, it was quite a good product on release, even very good but they have completely abandoned the project afterwards. Other devs keep updating and fixing their products.
The C414 for example is updated very often and every time I get an update I wonder what on earth was missing or broken that I missed.
Lesson number 1: don’t abandon your products, and if you are going to claim you haven’t then don’t make people think you have abandoned them.
What they did with the Twin Otter is another bad sign.
As any simmer I can only hope to have more and better development teams so let’s hope Aerosoft completely turns the waters after the 330 and luckily because of the 330. I reckon this is just a dim hope right now but maybe, who knows?
I think they made a quick buck with the CRJ as the first ‘airliner’ in the sim and took their money and ran. I think they think they will make a quick buck with the A330 as potentially the first long haul airliner in the sim and will take their money and run. They know that once the PMDG 777 is released it will eclipse their A330, so will get the plane out to a reasonable standard, get their money, and then leave it, as any updates won’t matter as the 777 will be more popular anyway. Just like what happened with the CRJ, out comes the 737 and the A320, and suddenly not that many people interested in the CRJ, few sales, and so its left to dry.
I really hope I am wrong.
There could be a great market for Aerosoft aircraft, people like me, who want a detailed aircraft with fully functioning FMS, can do everything perfectly but doesn’t have the massive systems depth of all circuit breakers and failures modelled and as such has good performance. Hey if the Fenix didn’t have circuit breakers and all systems failures etc, but had 10 extra FPS, I would take it all day over having circuit breakers.
V2 is on it’s way!
I still fly both the CRJ and the Twin Otter.
Are they perfect? Of course not, can they be worked around? for sure. Are they better than allot of other stuff included with the sim or available as third party? Absolutely.
In the case of Aerosoft, and specifically the CRJ (not sure about Twin Otter) but Hans Hartman was the developer, and as we all know his focus has been with Asobo / MS with the ATR.
It would be nice to see some updates as that project closes, but if not, I’ll still fly those planes and enjoy them for what they are.
Oh yes, boy I can’t wait. Even when it comes though, I’d still take an extra 10fps to get rid of the circuit breakers and the computations that must go into that.
And until it arrives, we really wont know if it going to be as good performance wise as the PMDG, we could all end up being disappointed. I really hope not, of course.
It’s just sad to see Aerosoft going down hill and that I have to give pause when they release a new product for MSFS. To have the CRJ as one of the first airlines in MSFS and then to get our money and then kick the community to the side, is just sad to me.
Maybe the Bus or Train Simulator is doing better for them so there is really No need to worry about flight?
Aerosoft under the influence of a certain person went from an add-on dev that could be trusted to an add-on dev that mistook the green of many of the new customers and ran with that! They latched on to what they saw as the bigger majority of the community not understanding or forgetting just how fickle that can be. Thinking or assuming that is where the money is and that’s all they need to worry about. That has clearly back fired, and now we are in the undercover sorry phase, but it may not work.
They resorted to a few bad moves and some tall stories! In any case I beleive that there has been change over there now, but lets see. As the A330 gets closer all will be revealed I guess.
But just an idea…We dont care how much money you make, we dont care who YOU think the core market is, some of us want better or at least what you used to be! If you want to target a certain audience then say it, but dont excuse it, dont try and cover it up under the veil of excuses like “Well XBOX cant support this that and the other” You tried that with the Twin Conner (sic) and it was awful watching, dont tell us that Freeware devs are doing it wrong, and dont compare with other payware!
Just make your offering the best it can be, and support it and be honest about it.
But maybe the Aerosoft A330 will have FPS!
Everyone will love it when it has FPS LOL because everthing else is not of concern or matters in any way in any game or simulation anymore since four years but 9999999999 FPS.
It will be the best addon ever created as long as it breaches the 200 FPS limit, the rest like for example virtual cockpit, systems, accurate engine calculation, electrical and hydraulic systems, and interesting failures can all be left out as long as it has FPS
Haha joke aside I like that A330, it´s a refreshing new cockpit and some nice Airbus to collect, we will see how it turns out
Not bad not bad… I am curious how well simulated the systems will be.
