All,
I’ve not flown into the default hand-crafted EDDM (included with World Update 18) much but recall it looking very good — however I think there were numerous issues reported with the instrument approaches and AI traffic/BATC compatibility? Since Gaya don’t update their hand-crafted airports, I assume these bugs persist?
I take it Sim-Wings’ version is spot on when it comes to approach navaids and injected traffic? How does it compare visually? Is it worth paying for?
Thanks in advance…

Absolutely worth its price. As I fly into and from EDDM a lot, the Aersosoft/ Simwings airport is a huge visual upgrade and a must have in my opinion.

Thanks for that. Any issues with AI traffic?
Sim-Wings are notorious for updating their products for simple compatibility, without actually updating the state of the airport — is there anything (e.g. construction work) that’s noticeably outdated in their EDDM?
Thanks.
I just checked out the free Gaya (WU18) version of EDDM. As I say, I recall being impressed when it released, and it still looks good in 2026. I believe there are some annoying inaccuracies, evident to those who know the real airport, but everything looks good to me, except for a number of taxiway edge lights in the middle of the taxiway out to 08L. No issues whatsoever using BATC (traffic was landing 08R and departing 08L). Apron clutter is definitely higher quality and more abundant in the S-W version, however, and the huge LH hangars in the airfield’s SW corner appear better modelled. Really not sure whether the additional detail is worth £13 to me, though.
