Actually a glass cockpit can be retrofitted, like the Garmin G950 to Twin Otters.

The cost of retrofits like this is usually more than the value of the whole aircraft. It can be done in theory, but very rarely in practice. It makes more sense to buy a new SR22 for example, with glass cockpit as standard.

How would a SR22 be able to replace a Twin Otter?

Hopefully whoever picked it up from they who shall not be named is smart enough to do a Viking or glass cockpit version as well. Iconic machines are great to be able to fly throughout their full historical development, gives you more of an appreciation of how aviation develops.

Idk if this was already covered in this Thread, but when i asked something about the A330 product in the Aerosoft Forums, i got this answer from M. Kok (Aerosoft):
"I would not call them ‘features’ if not a single user noticed them in 6 years. But yes, there are more parts that are not ported. The Twin Otter was a bit different, we aimed that product at a different audience and priced it differently. It remains a major issue to me when people compare products that are not priced similarly. To be honest it sold brilliantly and we are very happy with the way the product is now moved on to a new owner. "
So yes, the Otter is taken over by someone else (Asobo/MS?)

Good to hear.
This is the best thing that could have happened to us twotter fans. It gives us hope that this wonderful aircraft will be optimized, because there really is a lot to improve. And it would be great if it comes up with modern cockpit layout and the typical twotter sound.

ah bummer. I had gotten my hopes up maybe the Twotter would be part of the next local legends or something similar

You mean for free? Nobody is going to buy the same plane twice and it will in fact cause a massive backlash that will ripple through this marketplace for years to come.
