After almost 4 years of MSFS 2020 , What are your loading times?

Hi there,
After almost 4 years of MSFS 2020, What are your loading times? Any info is greatly appreciated. TIA

Well above 10mins on Series X since the last update. I assume PC isn’t much better? I fear I might have to do a complete reinstall, which is not something that is a joy to do. I pretty much get stuck on the “Checking For Updates” screen for way longer than I used to. The next phase of loading isn’t much better either tbh.

I’m on PC. 746 addons, most from fs.to and about 50 purchased planes and sceneries. Just did a test and coming in at 2:30m. I have all nvme drives.

About 1 minute? I dont keep alot of addons active at any one time

2 minutes with all addons except FSLTL and non-redundant AIG models
6 minutes with FSLTL and non-redundant AIG models added (about 52GB)

I have very similar results. I don’t use FSLTL though. I think I use…AIG? I think it’s called. But model matching is what seems to drive up loading times.

About a minute for me too. I use Addons Linker to split my mods though. When I’m flying in the eastern US / Caribbean I use one set of mods, and when I fly in the western US / Hawaii / French Polynesia I use a different set.

As a side note, I use FSLTL also. I used AIG about a year ago but to be honest I don’t remember why I switched.

App. 14 min

From clicking the icon to getting the main menu on screen, less than a minute.

My MSFS instal with purchases & add-ons is about 410GB, and I have FSLTL and a number of updates & enhancements in the Community folder.

I have Windows 11 on a stand-alone Samsung 980 pro m2 nvMe, and MSFS + a couple of other games on a Crucial PCiE 5 m2 nvMe SSD.

Depends greatly on the Community folder.
In my case between 2 and 5 minutes with addons and about 1:30 minutes without addons.
In-game loading times when loading a flight are relatively short. Under a minute usually.

About 2-3 minutes with my usual plethora of addons.
I use the fastlaunch option, so no Asobo/Blackshark splash screens.

Around 8 mins. Slow. Not only initial load but the poor design of having to go back to main menu to change planes, livery, airport. Takes so much time

here it take me approx 2 min 30 to launch the sim, having all World update installed, community filled with 55 mods including FSTL liveries (for a total near to 81 Go for the community folder)
everything (community and “official” folder) are installed in a Nvme ( 2 Tb Samsung SSD 980 pro ) except the main executable folder of the sim which is located in the system drive on a SSD MX500 by crucial

Less than 1.5 minutes to load, about the same as my other 2 flight sims - IL2 GB and DCS. I don’t run any background stuff like web browsers, etc., except my Track IR, and occasionally HWInfo 64 to check PC component temps. I don’t have a bunch of add-ons in my community folder either, less than 10 at any given time. But I do have a fast fiber connection and a good machine which runs cool and quiet and quite solid:

Couple minutes, never measured. This is with quite a few add ons and nvme. It used to take longer.

About 2 min after the click on the icon to pass the initial loading screen and 2.5 min more to join the main menu. I’m on Win 11 with two Nvme drives and MSFS deluxe with all free add ons, PMDG and inibuilds airliner together with FSLTL in the community folder.

2-3 minutes after SU15. It was close to 5 minutes before the update. I think I have less than 100 mods, and all world updates installed

about 3-4 minutes. 152gb community folder.

Never timed it, but at a guess I’d say 5min, maybe a smidge under.

112GB Community folder.
445GB Official folder.
