I am flying over the low countries (France) and wondering if this is AGL or ASL ?
It just doesn’t look like AGL. I have parachuting from 1000 feet. Doesn’t seem real.
Normally altitudes are given in what is called MSL, which is what you’re referring to as ASL. It means above mean sea level.
As stated, MSL (Mean Sea Level), important to ensure barometric pressure is set correctly on instruments inside the cockpit and reference charts for elevation.
Sport and military jumps are AGL.
