I agree it’s bugging out the iniBuilds aircraft and from what I’ve seen from others also other aircraft, until there’s a way to enable or disable it I think I’m sticking to 2020 also for my main sim

If we want to see this natively implemented, this thread needs a lot more votes as it once popped up on the development update but then disappeared due to other things being more popular with the community. We’ll likely need 600 more votes for this to be taken a look at by the developers.
Since adding in the “plugin” from the original flight sim folder works on 2024 (barely) I feel like this would be a really simple fix…
And it’s honestly baffling they wouldn’t just implement it from the start if it’s so similar to the old game that the old AI pilot almost works plug and play.
Honestly this whole release has been a joke. Very disappointing.
I am just keeping this thread alive, but I have a hunch that since most default aircraft are by iniBuilds and others that outright refused to implement AI pilot in their aircraft in 2020, the probability is that we will either not get it for a long time or not at all… Microsoft and Asobo seem to have forgotten their own rules: the skies are open to all… if MS and Asobo are shutting pilots with disabilities out of 2024 by not including this feature, then shame on them. Microsoft and Asobo, if you made AI pilot just as a tech demo for 2020, give yourself some credit because you did me, my VA pilots, and countless others with disabilities our wings, not to forget even more people that use the AI feature for other reasons. Then, they proceed to take it away and, even worse, cast a false sense of security for pilots with disabilities and others who need AI pilots, lock our purchases in by making us wait hours to get into the new sim and thus voiding our return periods for both steam and the MS Store. I have both the $140 PD Edition on Steam and the $350 LCE as glorious digital bricks collecting digital dust because I can’t fly 2024… Thanks a lot
Tell me, is there any news about the AI pilot?
100%: I’ve complained since launch about the baffling absence/omission of AI Copilot. Asobo has never commented on it (AFAIK), and the feature remains absent in MSFS 2024 to date. Like you, I have a copy of MSFS 2024 collecting dust on my XBSX HDD; I stick with 2020.
I haven’t and won’t be investing in any further purchases for 2024 because of the absence of the AI Copilot feature. If the developer won’t redress the issue (let alone have the courtesy to explain), I will not give them any further custom. MSFS 2024 is dead to me. Long live MSFS 2020.
Hi there everyone,
Since the release of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 on xbox there hasn’t been an option to engage the AI Pilot using a menu type option like there was available in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. I would like to make a request to implement this feature into the game. This option especially is useful for persons with a disabbility who can’t play the game normally. Personally I always did enjoyed the 2020 version of this simulator game using this option rather than flying the plane myself. It’s just a matter of personal preference.
Reading the previous comments and replies in this post makes me confused about the whole matter. Why won’t Microsoft implement this feature that means so much to alot of people. I know it sounds cringy to tell people that you just turn on AI Pilot in 2020 and let the plane fly itself. Some responses I got were like: “Where’s the fun in that?”. It’s just my way of enjoying the game. I just can’t get my head around it, maybe I should stop trying for this is just a game and life just goes on.
As other have stated the absence of the AI pilot is puzzling. The lack of the AI pilot is the reason I haven’t played much of MSFS 24 much less even consider buying anything from the marketplace. I’ll be sticking to MSFS 20 for the foreseeable future.
It doesn’t sound cringy at all. Leaving aside the importance of the feature for disabled players, sometimes it’s fun just to be a passenger. Flight Simulator doesn’t have to mean Pilot Simulator, you can simulate being a passenger or copilot too. It’s still going on a flight.
What I’m wondering is if Microsoft knows that with the decision to exclude ai pilot for the game they exclude a whole user group from it and therefore lose considerable revenue.
I think I did see somewhere that they do intend to implement some sort of AI Pilot to the sim again. I’m not sure when, but I did see it mentioned somewhere, probably in a future Sim Update.
Was about to reinstall the game, but since the AI pilot still isn’t added in, I’ll just keep waiting.
Welcome back, I see that your latest post was 1 year ago
I’m very curious where the dev’s may have mentioned this.
It was mentioned in the March devstream.
Thank you very much
I’ve been thinking past week 'bout this feature not being available for the game. I eventually came to the conclusion that I’m ready to pay for this feature if this brings it priority on the dev’s schedule. I’m willing to pay as much as 75 dollars for this feature if it is really foolproof.
