I do not buy any Airplane for this Sim in the MP because of that. I can not even change the Camerasettings. Ergo financial loss for the Developer.
Even in the menu where you want to plan a flight, you realize how stupid this idea of streaming is to stream “everything”
agree and hope MSFS allow us to download maps etc in the near future.
right now my scenery keep fluctuating based on the internet speed. This make the game almost unbearable in VR. speedtest shows my PC at 430mbps, i run ryzen 9 3d, RTX4090 and 64G .
i had high hopes for this and will remain on the fence for now…but if this does not get fixed or changed i’m going back another sim instead.
come on MSFS you can do this!!!
I would have to agree, we could download those planes once and not have to rely on the servers.
In the future perhaps, but right now, not ideal. If you have unlimited bandwidth. Not everyone has access.
office 365 /teams had a long outage today. This will happen with this game too eventually. Which is why we need more offline assets.
Windows as a service model, yeah I get it, but most of windows is still located ON the harddrive. MSFS 2024 will get better I have no doubt, but I just think it wasnt a good idea, when storage is so readily available in 2024
i agree
they should have streamed the scenery, yes
but the a/c, the liveries and the airport textures (runway, grass) should be stored locally
If I remember properly, they planned a possibility do download your planes from the Market place. So, you can keep your favorites on your drives. Is Market place working currently in 2024?
No, they shut it down until December is my understanding. I think because they found some pretty major compatibility problems with 2020 content, so they need to fix those issues first. And they also left out the code for VFS mirroring for access to the code for aircraft in the release. That’ll be coming back in an update. Who knows why they left it out. It was surprising to I think his name is Eric of the SDK team that it was missing. So, either it got lost in the shuffle that is the process of compiling what gets released, or, they had to hold it out to deal with some legal issues.
You’d be surprised by all the work that goes into dotting t’s and crossing i’s.
I agree that this was a very bad idea. Actually, I’m pretty sure they did this because of the Xbox.
Everything is slow to load, it’s stuttering, the entire game feels “heavy” all the time.
I really hope they’ll let us download the planes we want locally on PC in the future.
Again this Spiel? It’s even worse for us, trust me. Last five flights I attempted ended with a CTD on final approach, and even that’s an improvement on the CTDs on startup…
