This is not the end of the world but I find it annoying that when I start cold and dark at airports, in particular busy international airports, that when I turn on my beacon on the a320, the ground crew do not vacate the area, (that goes for vehicles as well)
So there is me starting the engines and Dave and Rodney on the ground are aimlessly walking around my plane.
Should they not stand back when I turn the beacon on.
I guess I can lower a scale in the settings, but ideally it would be great if they acknowledged when an aircraft is starting engines or moving, lost count of the times Ive run over or sucked ground crew into the engines.
Yes, they are. The advantage of a sim/game is that we can be smarter than them and ignore the stupid buggers altogether and feel far superior to them. Instant gratification !!
Is there a scale in settings to reduce ground crew, I know there is a vehicle one, I think I have that on 50.
Will do the same for ground staff if there is?
Its worse than you think. Turning your beacon on, and starting up, seems to alert all ground vehicles to your presence, and they will flock to your location like moths to a flame.
this this this!! I’ve just bought PACX and am loving the added imersion, and really getting into the roleplay trying to use ground services etc.
I’m surprised there arent more payware / freeware mods that enhance the ground services and crew.
My wish list right now would be:
as per the OP, ground crew react to the state of the aircraft.
when you have air stairs, an option to call a bus over
pushback like I’ve seen youtubers use in XP11 where you can acurately draw a path for pushback and then it’ll just do it automatically alowing you to return to your “role” as pilot and focus on engine start etc.
and of course, that ground airport traffic cleared out of your way, even if they just turned around or faded away, it would be better than them driving through you, or you through them!
Not sure if you’ve noticed within PACX or not yet but there is a “safety briefing” section. With this, you can just google your carrier of choices “safety video” then once you find it on youtube. You can use a free youtube to wav converter to convert it to an audio file.
Download that, and then load it into PACX and you now have an official Safety demonstration
