Alarm in TBM

Suddenly there is an alarm going off in a TBM as soon as I hit fly, and i can’t find the source. It’s a continuous beeping. It started after I was trying settings in the MFD, but I cancel, go back to main menu and start over, but the beeping does not stop. Anyone else experience this?

Sounds like it might be warning you that the inertial separator is on. It you start on the runway it defaults to on, then the plane starts warning you about it whether or not you take off.

Look for warnings on the left side of the center screen. Generally, amber warnings don’t sound the alarm, but red ones do. (Inertial sep. would just show amber at the most, so shouldn’t be setting off the alarm.)

AMBER (caution) = single chime (amber flashing messages and the amber master caution light is on)
push the master caution light to cancel.

RED (warning) = continuous chimes (red flashing messages and the red master warning light is on)
push the master warning light to cancel.

@tclayton2k interial separator is an amber caution message and hence triggers a single chime.

@Guano458 if it’s continuous, it must be a red warning. Check the messages.
A panel screenshot might help with troubleshooting.

Thanks. I never use it in the sim, so I couldn’t remember.

Are you starting cold and dark or engine running?

Thanks for the help

Anyone figure out what this alarm was? As soon as I move Source from Off to Batt the alarm starts and won’t stop. No indicators that would cause this. Intert Sep is off. I haven’t flown the TBM in a while but this is the first time this has happened.

There’s an issue with the park brake alarm in SU 6, it won’t go off until you release the brake. Might be that one you hear.

See this thread:

Two alarms that weren’t there before the update both are bugs.

One is the parking brake alarm which now can’t be silenced unless (a) your engine is started and running AND you have the parking brake released

The second is the ITT overheating right away after they “fixed” it’s behavior

Thanks to you both. It was the parking break alarm. Have to keep the volume down while setting up the aircraft.

zendesk this. they really do look at every report on zendesk

Or, release the parking break. Plane won’t roll if at idle.

Yep, it’s the Brake warning, driving me nuts too. The ITT seems to scream too soon to..

Which is unfortunately wrong.

The cabin altitude alarm can’t be silenced either above 10K cabin Alt. Have to fly at 31K to shut it up.

Just checked, and the cabin altitude never exceeds 9800ft.
Below the max diff pressure altitude cabin alt is ~8100ft.

Confirm the bleed air is set to auto and the dump switch at NORM?

Btw. A cabin alt warning above 10K cabin alt is correct, but it certainly shouldn’t stop at a higher cabin alt!

The Master Caution single chime is now wrong as well.

If you remove the condition which triggers the Master Caution (amber),
the single chime sounds which doesn’t make sense and shouldn’t occur.

It doesn’t stop at a higher cabin alt, I had to descend to 31K actual Altitude in order to bring cabin alt below 10k.

Made no difference if in max diff or auto.
Dump would have increased cabin alt significantly if it had been selected since it fully opens the outflow valve

I don’t understand.
Since FL310 is the maximum FL for the TBM, how can you descend to FL310?
