And still the ILS system and GPS are a shambles. So many issues I’d spend all day bug reporting. Can’t be bothered.
I have many hours in MSFS and have thoroughly enjoyed some very detailed flights with the G3000/5000 equipped aircraft as well as the Fenix and PMDG products. This is a ~$60 flight simulator that does an amazing job for what it costs. Of course it doesn’t replicate aircraft exactly, but then again, the Level-D full flight simulators I used to sell to customers didn’t either.
You might generate a more engaging response if you added some details about those specific features that aren’t working up to par for you.
Hey good for you Sartanius! Guess what I too have thoroughly enjoyed some very detailed flights with the G3000/5000 equipped aircraft as well as the Fenix and PMDG products. This is a ~$60 flight simulator that does an amazing job for what it costs. But frustration is just that frustration! Over the last week I have encountered GPS bug after GPS bug. There is nothing like flying for hours on end only to have a flight ruined by broken systems, over and over again. Various airports and airways have never been updated and still suffer from broken appoaches, departures and with every ‘fix’ comes a whole new slew of errors. The garmin has a mind of its own and works with some aircraft and fails miserably with others. Even more frustrating when using VR.
I get it, you love it, and “hey it ony costs…” but some of us who have been here since day one get more than a little ■■■■■■ at times.
I was part of the first alpha wave and have been enjoying this journey ever since. And I definitely don’t expect a perfect simulator. What this product does is provide me hours of enjoyment simulating a career I was never able to have.
It is impossible to know what you are experiencing… whether you have configuration issues, or some other problem associated with your installation. It is rare an approach doesn’t work properly for me and the nav data I use (Navigraph) has not failed me on a single flight yet.
I understand you are having a tough time… and I hate to hear that. Have you tried working with Zendesk, or your addon dev, to sort out issues you are having?
I can only agree with Sartanius. Been here since the early alpha days. Flown 100s if not 1000s of ILS approaches and did a ton of GPS based navigation. Really don’t get what your grunch is.
I was also in the alpha, and don’t get me wrong I have been enjoying it as well. But I have put in a list of complaints as long as your arm, and nothing has been fixed. I have flown perfect flights, many perfect flights, GPS and VFR but there are still issues that effect many parts of the map, especially approaches to certain airports. Hey welcome Pieter! Good for you it all works well, and you don’t understand my issue. Well OK then.
We all fly from different airports, many of us have local favourites. If your local favourite works as planned, sure you’re not going to suffer any issues or problems and your “Really not going to get what your grunch is.” These problems have been around for many of us since the alpha and beta’s and the launch. And they remain broken to this day. I fly from EGGD (Bristol) UK. Sometimes the ILS works, nine times out of ten it doesn’t. Nearly all the approaches are broken. This is all these years later frustrating. Yes you can manually fly into the beam, but that break immersion, when all the various GPS and nav points don’t work. I’m not going to row back and forth with those of you “having a great time” the sim suffers from a myriad of issues, that need a lot of work. And bully for you, if none of these affect you.
Ok, there’s something specific that I can test along with you. What aircraft/equipment are you using when these approaches fail?
And I can’t get to this until tomorrow afternoon (EDT), but I will try to replicate your problem, if possible.
Please see this thread.
“The clouds in Live Weather look like garbage!”
“The clouds in Live Weather are too dark and are only displayed as cumuliform-type. Clouds should be brighter and should also include cirrus and stratus types to better match reality.”
The first example consists of vague, non-specific complaining. This is not useful feedback for the developers to take action on. The second example is specific and provides useful, constructive criticism that the developers can address. When posting any negative criticism of Microsoft Flight Simulator, please do your best to keep toxicity out of your posts and add value to the forums.
If you have an issue with the ILS and GPS systems, then please post a constructive topic with specific feedback in the Bug Reporting Hub section of the forums. Simply stating “the ILS system and GPS are a shambles” without providing any specific examples of how you feel these systems are lacking is not useful feedback to the development team.
Thanks,
MSFS Team
