Since I started using FS2020 and now FS2024, I have always configured the controls this way.
Triggers (Primary interactions)
Vertical Thumbstick Back (Secondary interactions - Pull)
Horizontal Thumbstick to the Left (Tertiary interactions - Push)
X Y A B buttons to increase and decrease interactions.
I know that in FS2024, they changed this type of interaction and now we can no longer use the same thumbstick to increase and decrease values. I have no idea why they changed this.
But at least we have this alternative that I show in the video. I use this way in FS2020 and has been very useful in FS2024. I had already adapted in a few minutes.
I a bunch of live streams on my channel where you can see that the interaction is very fluid and very close to what I do in the real plane on a daily basis on the real aircraft.
Thanks for sharing! VR controllers add another level to the immersion as well as give more variety and realism to the cockpits.
My preference is to push the thumbstick in for tertiary, and squeeze the handle for secondary - it’s a bit like pulling it towards you so feels very intuitive for things like the push/pull Airbus knobs.
Good idea to assign increase/decrease to the buttons as a workaround! I would still prefer to use the thumbstick as it feels more intuitive and realistic, especially for flicking switches or turning knobs. I made a bug report about not being able to assign the thumbstick, please vote if you have the same issue
I’ve voted - I can assign thumbstick push (tertiary) and pull (secondary) - squeeze ; but when interacting in the VR cockpit this does not work at all on the FCU.
Using a Quest 3 and Virtual Desktop.
/ - increment on the thumb stick as you have reported also does not work.
