Am I the only having a white-ish or washed out overall image?

Looking at my MSFS2024 screenshots, they look like, all white-ish compared to MSFS2020. Anyone share the same feeling?

And it’s not the windshield of some plane, as the feeling the same in external view.

Aynone with an idea how to fix this?

I agree that the whole game, except for the opening video and the UI, looks washed out. Needs a gama adjustment and more contrast. No I am not going to adjust my monitor since it is calibrated and looks great for other things.

I get the same. Everything looks a bit foggy

I posted this elsewhere Everything looks washed out in FS2024 and it hasn’t changed. Looks like a no contrast image. This is NOT happening in FS2020.

Well, noon on a sunny day does look like that IRL!
That’s why we wear sunglasses :sunglasses:

But seriously: virtual sunglasses would be a nice option in the sim!
They actually exist for VR users, as part of the VR Toolkit!

Same here at least in 2020 you could go into the config and change ColorGrading to tone down the 2020s wash

I hope the 2024 .CFG file gets figured out to allow color grading and eye adaptation again.

Again? I’m still waiting to get eye adaptation figured out on 2020. I kinda hate that function and would rather they just make relative brightness not so drastic. Not everything needs to be simulated.

Back to the topic at hand about the washed/blown out colors, I agree. Running in SDR mode looks much better than HDR10.

I’m noticing this at night, everything looks foggy.

Same here:

It feels wrong.
The world is not as bright as this. Even with sunglasses.

It gets worse as you climb

I turned my gamma all the way down on my tv and that helped a lot. Also a setting called shadow detail on mine, all the way down.

Thanks but I don’t want to change my monitor settings just for MSFS2024.

I’m curious whether you have tried any of the Nvidia filters.

Please read the thread - they’re not working yet for FS2024.

Agreed, me neither, but it’s a workaround for now. Something has definitely changed between sims as I never had this issue bin FS20, hopefully it’s fixed and the workaround is no longer needed.

irl world looks hazy and daytime with overcast looks toooo dark. Nothing wrong with your screenshots , welcome to as real as it gets. I think that now its good as in real life, i dont want a “game” look, but with clouds its still too dark and cant get nvidia filters to work.

Why would I change my screen settings that are optimized for my use in any other applications?
It does not make any sense to think like that.

It’s Asobo responsibility to ensure they use today’s screens capabilities at their best. That include dealing with powerful screens able to replicate powerful HDR capabilities.
And no, on my screenshots, HDR is disabled. I do not want to go blind…

Hmm…What’s wrong?
And mesh broken all over the world (pic3)

It’s a workaround I’m describing for those who want to use it. To repeat myself, I don’t think the existence of a workaround means that there isn’t an issue that Asobo needs to fix :man_shrugging:

Obviously up to any individual if they want to do it. For me it takes about 20 seconds and it means I can fly at night without feeling like I’m looking through a cataract.

Try with a sunnier weather.
The issue I am describing is not appearing whenever a sufficient cloud layer is present.
