An option to turn off the white border that appears on avionics when using an XBOX controller on PC

Hey!

I would like an option to toggle off the white border that appears on the screens of avionics in glass cockpits, when moving the camera around using an XBOX controller. See here for an example of this happening.

I find this really distracting and clunky, to the point that I’ve stopped using 2024 because of it.

I use a controller to fly and look, along with a mouse and keyboard - I don’t have space for peripherals and I don’t sit at a desk.

I have mentioned this previously as a bug but it was closed as by design and have now been told to maybe ask here.

If it is by design because it serves some function that’s fine but it would be nice if we could have the option to turn it off.

Cheers!

I take it this will just be ignored as a wishlist item then…

Asobo have consistently ignored issues with the “White Dot”, they just have a stubborn assumption that if you have a controller you “need” to use it to click on things.

After years of complaints / requests to be able to turn it off, when you uncheck the Setting to show the White Dot, they effectively just hide the dot visually when you use a controller, instead of disabling it’s functionality. And it is still there and flashes visibly when you pan the camera, and it still locks on to instruments, and highlights glass cockpit instruments.

I don’t know why they can’t just let us turn off the visibility and functionality of the White Dot completely.
