Oh dear
This is not great really
Well, ironically, all the complaints here have made me decide to purchase the plane. Given the developersā honest and apologetic public statement, the realities of early access, and my own disappointment at how toxic our community can be at times, Iām going to support their efforts.
I am not in any way negating the disappointed posts here. But for my own play style, I like to fly the plane, not program the autopilot. So Iām okay with standard systems for a while. Iāll take off, climb to height, and then I might put on the autopilot while doing some other stuff, and then Iāll grab the controls when landing.
I fully understand that for some of you the joy comes from following the same procedures the real pilots do from start to shutdown. Me, Iām happy to be that cranky senior pilot who started on 727s and wants to hand-fly the plane. When VNAV comes, Iāll learn that too and enjoy learning more of the automation systems. But for me personally, I fly MSFS to fly planes, not manage systems. Some of yāall prefer the latter ā thatās fine, and by all means, you should wait! But Iāll grab the discount now, enjoy the attractive visual model, and (most important to me) the realistic flight model. Hopefully they will deliver on all their promises and you automation-oriented folks will be able to pick it up and be happy down the road too!
Everyone is going crazy over the E-175 and there are MANY more with less to offer, that made it into MSFS game and Marketplace that are trash. There is NO standard for this Game about what equals good or not.
So why are you so upset?
At lease the Dev have had an open dialog with the us Gamers.
I have no qualms with the FSS E175 so far-despite all the missing functionality like VNAV as part of Early Access.
Finding the E175 very easy to taxi with just my TCA Sidestick.
Wishing for some preset Showcase camera wing views from the cabin like the Asobo A320 and other aircraft have-yes, there are preset views but none of the wing as if you were seated in the cabin.
Iāll settle for this cabin wing view for now:
Done with a few short trips and so far I am enjoying the aircraft. Since it was announced by the developers that it was released in its earliest stages I did not go in with high expectations. Exterior wise the aircraft is spot on and looks really good, the cockpit is pretty accurate as well. FPS did seem to dip randomly but turning off the FOs panels helped a bit. A nice break from flying the fenix/pmdg738. Excited for the updates that will continue to be rolled out however Iām not sure if buying the aircraft now will require a different purchase for the updates
You are not the only one. There is room for products in that category (not just GA) but they donāt have to be half baked like this.
If thatās the case MSFS 2020 is half baked. People have 4080 cards and still canāt play the game as intended. Even if the E-175 was " Study Level" the Game (MSFS) canāt play it. MSFS is evolving just like everything that goes into it. We have to trust the process.
I take it that you donāt have a 40xx card, because then you would not write that comment.
With respect, nonsense. Not sure where you got that information from. I have a 4080 and the sim performs wonderfully - everything on ultra, supersampling at 130% and I get 80 - 100+ FPS with frame generation and TAA.
If you have a 4080 yourself and the sim isnāt working well then there are clearly issues elsewhere (CPU, thermals, etc) or your card needs returning.
That is not to say that this product doesnāt have FPS issues, however, because it very clearly does (not with the exterior, but with the panel).
I have all of the above and the ERJ is the absolute pits. I hope the updates improves things but I think the only thing that really works properly is the APU and the lights.
Just saw Pilot Studds review and he says he is experiencing a 40%!!! loss in fps. Not knowing his system specs and the baseline, I think that is massive.
Glad you responded to that. I have the same card and the same experience. the 4080 / 4090 and no doubt the other 40XX cards with the new tech take FS2020 to a COMPLETE NEXT LEVEL.
I would love to second this. I treated myself to a 4090, just amazing. Awesome in VR and in Pancake as well. The sim feels so different now. Fluid at max settings in 4k is a whole other ballgame.
Good to hear. I just picked up a 4080 and Iām pretty stoked to build it into the rig this weekend. Of course that means thereās nothing left in the piggy bank for the E-Jet at the moment, but glad to see that those who have purchased it are fairly happy
My E-Jet is no longer starting up - I get a kind of āwindows crash-screenā on the PFD saying something like "we are collecting data from your blackbox regarding your last crash - thatās it. Not that I actually crashed the thing. Tried different liveries - the same.
Batteries on GPU on APU on - nothing
Interesting
The most telling thing about how bad it is has to be the lack of repaints on flightsim.to - normally when a new product is released there is a rush of repaints within 24H. It is as if they see who can get the repaint out first. Nada - the only repaint is from the media partners.
Deducing quality by availability of liveries on flightsim.to is telling me things too.
Iāll give this one a couple more months before I buy.
Definitely going to buy eventually regardless of the initial bad press.
Iām doing the same. I have some confidence in FSS and although their stream wasnāt the best i think their intentions are good. Iām just going wait because i donāt wait to use an super unfinished peace of entertainment software right now.
Agree completely, itās a good indication of the interest in the aircraft. And this one has received a lot of bad press too so itās relevant. But letās see in the months to come, it might get much better.
