Milan Malpensa Airport (IATA: MXP, ICAO: LIMC) is the largest international airport in northern Italy, serving Lombardy, Piedmont, and Liguria, as well as the Swiss Canton of Ticino. The airport is 49 kilometers (30 mi) northwest of Milan, next to the Ticino River dividing Lombardy and Piedmont.

Malpensa Airport remains the second-busiest Italian airport for international passenger traffic (after Rome Fiumicino Airport), and the busiest for freight and cargo, handling over 500,000 tons of international freight annually.

The airport was opened in 1909 by Giovanni Agusta and Gianni Caproni to test their aircraft prototypes, before switching to civil operation in 1948.

Very excited for this airport! I believe this is being published by Aerosoft? Are you the developer? Let me know if you need some help with beta testing! I fly VFR and IFR and know what I’m doing and have an eye for detail!

There has been no news about this project for over a year. Is it to be considered abandoned?

@MarcoC172 Not abandoned at all.

You can follow the progress on Aerosoft Forum.

Can’t wait for LIMC as well.

Good news, thank you!!!

Any news about LIMC Malpensa?

You have to keep following the aerosoft forum’s post linked above

Finally after 2 years and half… The Berlusca Airport is here

Always like having visible interior modeling from airside-so Milan is perfect for me!

F finally… Scenery looks amazing, even tho calling it “Silvio Berlusconi” airport is quite concerning. :cold_sweat:

Finally this important european hub is available in a great rendition. I bought it and I’m waiting for the fs24 compatibility.

It certainly looks a lot nicer than his Ben Gurion — but being fair, that is a very old scenery now, in MSFS terms!

I’d be very interested and grateful if you had the time to put up a couple of screenshots of the cargo area at the southern end (in 2020 or 2024, not important). Specifically the DHL area. I’ll probably buy it anyway, because I’ve been wanting to do Leipzig to Milan in the A300F for forever.

Filbert Flies will also do a review stream soon, but I was hoping to get it from Contrail at 10% discount in a bundle with Black Friday stuff, if it is released there in time.

Here is a review in German with lots of pictures. Unfortunately, the airport looks rather mediocre.

Waiting for the MSFS 2024 compatibility patch for the best and full 2024 compatibility but LIMC works OK for now in 2024.

Hmmm, looks only marginally better than the Ben Gurion airport from the same dev that I have regretted buying because of those horribly blurry ground textures. Buildings modelling seems pretty lacklustre too. Let’s see what Filbert has to say (livestream tomorrow), but at the asking price I will probably not be getting it - a shame really as it was very high on my list of desirable locations.

It was definitely made to look better in the preview video! Looks somewhat underwhelming in that review, with the modelling/texturing looking very much like FSX in places.

But I think the bigger point is, if you’re looking for the best Milan Malpensa currently available, this has to be your choice. It does manage to outdo the extremely disappointing competition, at least…

This is a screenshot from British AvGeek’s stream using Malpensa. The DHL area that I am mostly interested in looks OK. There were many bits shown though that are not good at all, from floating signage to satellite-based ground textures with flattened cars and a very sparse interior in the pax terminals. I guess the decent runways and taxi lanes combined with what is in the pic below still make this an acceptable airport for cargo ops, but I will definitely wait for this to go on sale before I buy it. What’s another few months after over two years of waiting? By then Ini will probably also have made the A300F native for 2024.
