Update: The update will be released at the earliest on December 5th due to no releases on thanksgiving. PMDG still don’t know for sure though anything. It’s disappointing from a consumer perspective and I think to be frustrated. If the new update comes but doesn’t work with 2024 still and PMDG have to make a new compatibility update, I’m sure they will be equally as frustrated.
I think Microsoft and the Marketplace are just in chaos. I would not blame PMDG for this particular problem. The marketplace, and addon compatibility will be in flux for the next few months at least and here’s why:
The 2024 sim itself has had a very bumpy launch, and they will be fixing and experimenting with the base sim and streaming, and then any relevant changes have to be reflected in the SDK, which developers then have to interpret and test against, and submit to the Marketplace… in that time, the sim and SDK can change again… creating a situation where developers have a hard time publishing until the base sim and SDK are stable.
It would be great if things work out faster, but better to keep expectations low for now, I think. In the end, I believe MS, Asobo, and PMDG all want things to work.
I do hope there will be more ability for BETA TESTING - not just of the sim but of the addons as well. There is a huge, willing group of testers.
Agree … but:
What happens to the PMDG 737 update in MSFS 2020?
How can I get a refund for the product that has not been updated?
I try to request my refund from PMDG but they won’t allow me
Yeaah, so I’m a PC user who paid the full price on the marketplace for the 737-800 on MSFS 2020, and I am stuck several versions behind and unable to use the current AIRAC.
This is incompetence. Got nothing to do with SDKs and BETA TESTING.
99% of the people here are for the update on 2020 which seems like it’s never coming due to MS/Asobo having other priorities than its marketplace customers.
It is obvious they are short staffed for scenarios like these. The team which tests new marketplace content/updated content is working hard on the MSFS2024 marketplace where they are also behind schedule. They just put MSFS2020 on hold/on second priority railway despite their promises…
As the issue is with the Merketplace version, we are unable to refund you. We did not sell it to you after all. You will have to discuss this with Microsoft, from whom you bought it. Keep in mind that we do NOT know who bought a product on the Marketplace. The only data we get is the number of sales. Nothing more.
So, we did not disallow it; we cannot refund a non-existing order.

Non-existing order lol. Isnt that convenient to you? Is this stated anywhere? How do you provide support when there is “non-existing” order?
I am sorry you do not understand this. Let me try to explain it again.
-
You did not buy a product from PMDG, you bought one we created,
-
We do not have a sales agreement with you,
-
We have no way of knowing if you own the product (Microsoft does not share that with us)
-
We did not get any money from you.
-
You did buy the products from Microsoft,
-
You agreed to their sales agreement,
-
They know who you are, what you paid etc (sales prices differed a lot per country)
-
If they agree, they can refund your order.
It is all very much the same with every product. If you buy Heinz Ketchup at the supermarket and it is rotten, you do not ask Kraft Heinz for a refund. You go to the place where you bought it.
That’s not ‘convenient’ for us. I have no idea if Microsoft states that anywhere; I have never looked for it. And we support our products, no matter where they are bought. I think that is pretty straightforward. You will find this to be the same for EVERY company that sells via the marketplace.

I believe this
Is the agreement and T&Cs when purchasing off the marketplace. The contract is between you and Microsoft. PMDG are the not the ‘seller’, they are the creator, but Microsoft sold you that product.
A total mess reading this I own over £120 pmdg products on marketplace. Total silence on the matter except finger pointing
It’s not finger pointing. It’s pretty clear what is happening.
I can only blame Microsoft for pushing the SIM out and not delaying it leaving everyone else in the water. Marketplace coming soon, career parts coming soon, says it all
Yes but this is a Microsoft 2020 update. It is very unfortunate.
Ahh so it gets worse got ya
Yes, it is clear to me that PMDG will not give me any answer as a customer
For PMDG asking for a refund is trolling
I tried to explain it two times in great detail, dear LentesAzules, and I am really sorry you still do not understand the flaw in your reasoning. As I do not know how to explain this better, I will depart from this discussion in the understanding that readers seem to understand that we are technically and legally simply unable to do what you request.
