Have a 5800X3d CPU which changed my sim completely in regards to stutters, but having issues with complex scenery add ons which I suspect is the GPU.
Is anyone running a 4070 Super with a 5800X3D? Or did anyone make the jump from a 2070 Super to a 4070 series? If so, how was the performance increase?

It was a few months ago that I upgraded from a 2070 super to a 4070 (super was not available at the time.) My CPU is less powerful than yours (i9-9900K) and the CPU is very important for msfs. My performane improved perceptively - smoother. When I upgraded I changed some settings: in particular, I turned HAGS on and switched from DX11 to DX12. I think that it is a good step particularly with the increased memory in the 4070 and the graphics features available only to the 4000 series cards.
I went from a 3060ti to a 4070 Super recently… def saw improvements and was able to increase quite a few of the settings. Things like complex scenery and aircraft are still taxing, as well it does not eliminate all of the other little issues when the software just doesn’t run efficiently. However, overall I’m pleased with the increases in performance but they are not massive by any means.
That said if I had it to do over, I would really consider the 4070ti Super and spend the extra money for the additional vram. These cards Nvidia is selling really should have more vram. I definitely found that the sim just eats it up and 16gb would improve things quite a bit.
