Just ordered one last night, looks like it’s coming from Thailand so I’m not expecting it for awhile I guess. About $110 all in after shipping. Looks like it takes awhile to program but there’s quite a few guides out there. Just looking for any input from anyone to justify my purchase I guess. Seems like a pretty solid immersion addition to replace my wireless USB numpad, and I like the idea of having a COM/NAV tuner knob as well. Feel like I’m getting to the point where I can start monkeying with the radios more during flight.
oh wow, looks good, pls pls keep us informed how it works.
I have the Miap and the Mili. I use them a lot on GA. However, as I expanded my needs, I added a XTouch mini. And finally added a Stream Deck XL. I use them all in different ways for different planes. If I’m in something simple, the Axair work great. If I move up to something more complex, I’ll add in the Xtouch or Stream Deck XL. The Stream Deck XL handles it all brilliantly.
For the Axair you can program just about anything through the MSFS hardware controls. Potentially you may want to add Axis and Ohs or one of the others.
I looked at that controller but have not made the decision to purchase it. I will be interested in knowing what your experiences are with the unit. Best of luck!
I have just had the Axair MIAP for XBOX arrive from Thailand.
Any advice before I start programming the unit?
I would appreciate any advice, thanks.
Fantastic!
Thank you very much.
Can someone help with the install or better said the function.
When you connect MIAP it shows as keyboard and you can make a profile.
But when using the miap profile my keyboard itself will not work.
It seems that you can use only miap or keyboard.
Any ideas ?
Guessing you may have run into some kind of soft limit with Xbox peripherals. Expected behavior is the MIAP mappings kind of merge with your keyboard mappings, allowing you to use both at once. I ran into a few problems here and there like what you’re having; resolved by running a powered USB hub from the Xbox for my other stuff (mouse, headset dongle, keyboard, Alpha/Bravo, MIAP, HOTAS One)
Which USB Hub are you using for xbox x ?
Apanage Powered USB 3.0 Hub, 8 Port USB 3.0 Hub Splitter with 7 USB 3.0 Data Ports and 1 Smart Charging Port with Individual On/Off and 5V/4A Power Adapter USB Extension for MacBook, Mac Pro… https://a.co/d/gPeznmT
I am having the same problem too.
Have you been able to resolve the non-merger of your programmed XBOX Axair with your keyboard?
I have bought a powered USB hub and have put both the Axair and the wireless keyboard and mouse dongle in that.
Not really.
I can only use keyboard settings or miap separately atm.
So precisely said - one of it is not usable.
I assigned most keyboard keys what i really need on my velocity one and thats ok for now.
OK
I might program the essential keyboard keys I use onto the MIAP / Axair keyboard profile.
Before I do that, is there any advice out there as to why the keyboards are no longer merging? Is it a SIM Update 10 thing?
The MIAP and keyboards tested still merge even after the latest, as of October 7 updated version of MSFS for Xbox.
However, If you encounter the issues mentioned here please quit MSFS and restart the Xbox before starting MSFS again. Also if you have a copy of MSFS running on your PC there could be a controller profile error which is saved in the MS cloud and synchronized to both the Xbox and PC. Another check is to connect the MIAP to a PC and use a free online keyboard tester to verify whether the MIAP (and your keyboard at the same time) merge. If the MIAP works on your PC and you may have access to another Xbox then try to connect your keyboard and MIAP to this console to check if your USB posts might cause the problems. If this is the case check the warranty on your Xbox because it might be the case the USB ports do not supply sufficient power.
As mentioned in this thread a quality-powered USB hub is recommended if you use multiple peripherals connected to your USB ports. Everything connected draws power from the Xbox.
If you still cannot get positive results contact AXAIR and provide details on the keyboard that does not want to merge with the MIAP.
I am trying various combinations, as instructed by various sources, and thank you for your in-depth instructions.
I have a wireless combination of keyboard and mouse, I notice that Xbox says programmes may support WIRED mice and keyboards and am wondering if that may be an alternative worth investigating?
I have been successful in combining the MIAP and keyboard, I simply duplicated the default keyboard rather than creating a new profile, as instructed, unless I was reading the instructions incorrectly!
Then added the MIAP buttons and knobs to that profile.
Hi, to clarify, you have a keyboard AND the MiAP connected to a powered hub, and it shows up on the control con fix as two separate devices?
Nope, Controls Settings just shows one keyboard. Mappings are merged.
