Is anyone creating aircraft liveries for ps5? Last time I checked I couldn’t see any, purchasing liveries was lowkey the thing I spent most money on when the sim was only available on Xbox and PC, and none of my liveries carried over (which was told to us) but I’m curious as to if any developers are making any for the ps5, I need to restart my collection lol
I don’t think the creation of liveries on PS5 requires any PS5-specific development (though I could be totally wrong). Addons for PS5 are first selected by Microsoft as candidates for the Marketplace (after already existing on the PC/Xbox Marketplaces) and are then submitted to Sony for strict performance testing. If they pass Sony’s testing, then they are put into the queue to release on the PS5 Marketplace.
No one publicly knows what Microsoft’s criteria are for selecting candidates for the PS5 Marketplace, so it’s really just speculation at this point as to why liveries have not arrived there.
Are there technical hurdles specific to PS5 architecture that require existing livery packages to be updated before release? I doubt it. Are there licensing concerns Sony has with real-world airline liveries that may or may not be licensed with those carriers being sold on their platform? Does Microsoft have insight into how much incremental revenue each addon generates, and are prioritizing the highest earners first?
All we can do is guess at this point.
