If they working on it why can’t they tell us what’s the cause of it? It would make everyone more relaxed. Now we speculate what causes it with no feedback if we are correct or wrong. I think those speculating threads is not good for the sim. They need to be more open about things.
The amount of noise an issue creates directly correlates with how much developer attention it gets. Hundreds of angry posts = hotfix. A few posts politely asking = backlog. Not saying that’s right, but that’s how it is.
The question is also whether we will be served at all with our problem.
The fact they acknowledge with a reply on Twitter, but are incapable of putting an official forum post out, even to just acknowledge the bugs, is one of the major flaws of how this sim is being developed - particularly in relation to keeping their customers updated and in the loop.
100% accurate - this is why I continue to post in not only this thread but several others, even if it’s just to keep the threads active. Because the second a thread goes silent, it gets swept under the carpet and forgotten - we’ve seen this multiple times already.
But clouds wrong at dead sea didn’t need many votes is think. It’s the biggest change in the sim ever. It changed the weather globally.
I have not seen a thread about that issue.
I think that’s because it’s had such a huge impact on other elements that those threads in particular have cropped up, such as this thread regarding MSL/AGL, excessive fog/haze, clouds not matching reported heights, clouds at ground level etc
It has for sure. But i mean before the dead sea clouds was fixed. I have not seen anyone complain they didn’t was properly set at correct altitude there. And it now got a fix in SU7. I think there is more imprtant things in the weather that needed a fix before that with higher votes and activity. I don’t realy know how they prioritize this sim actually.
Ahh yes sorry I misunderstood - I had never seen any complaints of that issue either. The next expansion is probably some dead sea exploration mission or something
my next target is what they have done to the textures with some see through plastics, if you fly the baron and look out the pilot window on the latches on the storm window, you can see through the engine cowling… also a total mess, I have seen no reports of this anywhere so don’t hold much hope.
Spotted this other day. Was raining through the latch lol. But that’s not relevant to this topic.
Please Asobo fix the clouds height please! It’s actually cheating to fly with clouds under the ground
Good to know they’re onto it. Upcoming release though… Feb?
Says you can choose to be part of a beta from Monday, but the release date for it isn’t confirmed however it’s meant to include fixes.
I’m guessing that will be before Feb, hopefully!
Nah, I bet before Christmas
Wonderful news!
Good testing
I know root cause has been identified but does someone knows if it is due to using MSL instead of AGL or or if it is due to the Dead Sea new functionality (-1640 feet) or a combination of both or something else ?. I assume people that will tbe able to test 1.21.17.0 should test various locations and different weather conditions/Metars to confirm clouds bases are always correctly calculated.
