I enjoy watching Into the Blue Simulations on YouTube, and I notice there is usually background radio chatter as he flies. I’m not looking for anything interactive, just something to add to the general ambiance.
I’ve looked a bit at FS-ATC-Chatter but want to hear if anyone has firsthand experience before I download something.
I use FS ATC chatter ….I like it as it adds something to the background.
Its obviously ‘dumb’ so not live chatter ….but in the background sounds good.

I used to use FS-ATC-Chatter, flying mostly in US, it had undoubtedly for the immersive experience. But it’s random and even without the freq or name, if you pay attention it’s sometimes weird. Quality of sample is very good. It’s often multi parts exchange and not only one call - one answer.
FS-ATC-chatter adapts to the frequency you have set. You can select the region to have localized (with accent) voices.
Now, I use Say Intentions which fill the empty space and background noise (obviously) with AI traffic. I don’t use the extra feature of Say Intention that can use historical real simmer message in this area. FS-ATC-Chatter, running in background, is even compatible with Say Intentions and knows when Say Intentions (or me) are communicating.
I think you’re going to need something interactive if you want plausible radio chatter. BATC offers this and does a fantastic job of it. But of course you’ll need to jump through all the necessary IFR hoops to get it fully functioning.
I use X-ATC Chatter in XP12 and it’s 10x more immersive than what BATC offers. After using it for a few weeks I can’t stand BATC voices anymore, especially when flying over non-english speaking countries. ATC and pilots speak like officer Crabtree, even with premium voices.
