Asobo Pilatus PC-6 missing rudder trim

Fine list although I could easily double its size. I’m not holding my breath as to fixes.

VOR and needles work for me. Sometimes you get a wonky VOR/DME station that actually only does DME so no needlework, but DME distance still shows on the Garmin. Test VOR with another aircraft to ensure this is not the problem.

Thanks for your answer. I do however know how to work with VOR beacons in any other plane. It just that there’s only one gauge for it in the porter and it doesn’t recognize it when I change the nav output from GDS to VLOC, except for ILS.

You can also enable reverse thrust in the air.

Yeah I noticed that too. Lol.

Not really sure what you mean!

MFD fuel gauge not working for me in the G1000 version. Anyone else?

Anyone try and steer the float version in the water? Seems there’s a maximum deflection of 20 degrees left and right but once it hits these limits it no longer turns but rather plows sideways in a straight line. Conducted tests with water rudders down and no wind. Impossible to turn in a circle. Default 172 does this ‘ok.’

Yeah, I had this as well with the limited turning in water.
Also, when I turn on the engine/throttle up on the water it violently pulls to one side and full rudder can’t stop it. Idling on water would sometimes just make it spin in circles.

I confirm: the amphibian Pilatus can’t be effectively steered on water, no matter if the water rudders are up or down.
A real pity, because the float version is very interesting… please Asobo fix it!

Apparently, all float planes are broken again after SU7, see https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/floatplanes-are-broken-again/475183
This seems no specific Pilatus issue.

Appears some planes are more affected than others. I can still steer the default 172 amphib with some effort but the PC-6 is completely defective in this regard. Comparing these two in 3-4kt winds leaves no doubt.

Well, I dunno but I had a lot of fun with my first proper flight in the PC-6. Even the rudder seemed to work ok in a stiff crosswind.

Unalaska to King Cove (PAVC) with live weather. Was rather exciting. My only gripe was the windscreen deicers were not very effective!

When I spawn into the PC-6 passenger, my view is straight up at the ceiling, and there is nothing I can do to change it.

Emptied out my Community folder and didn’t start TracKIR before starting MSFS 2020, but no change.

When I go to external view, I’m looking straight down on the PC-6, and again there is nothing I can do to change it.

Either straight up in internal view or straight down in external view. That’s all I’ve got.

What’s up with this?

P.S. I also deleted all of my controller profiles and I’m running on Default profiles, but to no avail.

Thanks!

But you do not mean water rudders to turn the aircraft, just the main rudder to keep it straight during the takeoff?

I meant the main rudder. But now I’ve flown it some more, I might have to retract my earlier statement. It badly needs a rudder trim gauge!

The yaw is indicated by the slip/skid indicator. You adjust the rudder trim in flight to trim out any pilot rudder input. Also the slip/skid indicator can be used as an aid. The trim indicator really comes into play while on the ground so you can set the trim for take-off. In lieu of having a gauge I hold the trim for a while until it must be at full right for take-off and then adjust in flight as you make power changes.

It should have a gauge though.

Hi,
I do not see any checklists on Xbox for this plane
Can somebody put here checklists form PC version please?

Thanks

Even better, you can get the real-world Pilot Information Manual from Pilatus, here: https://www.pilatus-aircraft.com/data/tech_pub/PC-6%20PIM%2001820%20R08.pdf

Most of the warning labels in the cockpit on the glass cockpit version “animate” on Xbox Series X on a 4K TV.

It’s like the label surfaces aren’t quite sure where the surface of what they are stuck on is and they cycle above/below the surface.

It’s bizarre. It’s like they are sparkling.

have exactly the same problems ! V disappointing as 172 with floats is a tad underpowered by my reckoning to cope with the extra drag—up date please, soonest!
