After the hotfix I now have this problem too. I wonder how they managed to break something which was working normally until now. Interesting…
It’ll be another 2 weeks before we get a fix with SU5 Hotfix 2 - said to be released around the 23rd.
And then whatever SU6 is supposed to fix that SU5 broke
Same here, done with this title until the next major update. It’s a shame because things were working well until update 5. Still don’t understand how a patch can be released and screw up so many basic yet essential parts of flight simulator. Spent the time to learn how to plan and fly with IFR only to have ATC yell at me every few minutes telling me I’m at the wrong altitude.
Guess I’ll go back to crypto mining for a while to recoup some of the money I sunk into the new PC build, controllers, and add ons. Glad I paid for a yearly subscription to Navigraph so it can sit there unused.
See, that’s what bothers me…. It’s not just the money we spent on the simulator…. It’s the money we spent surrounding this product. Whether in the marketplace for scenery and airports (I have 23 airports uninstalled right now) or on all the hardware. It’s amazing the ripple effect this is having throughout the community.
I have the same problem. Going higher than the allocated altitude seems to fix it. A bit annoying.
Same issue. Just awful and annoying. Basically have stopped with this sim until there is a fix. Lucky if a flight even loads and when it does its issues getting to altitude, autopilot not working, the plane doing what it wants, etc. Such a mess.
It is really annoying having to fly at the wrong altitude because the calculations are wrong somewhere, but it’s such a complicated sim that these errors are inevitable. The trouble is errors stick out like a sore thumb and we (including myself) tend to focus on the flaws instead of the massive achievements that have been made.
And stupid me, I kept messing with the Barometric pressure setting thinking that was off. Glad I’m not crazy.
Just had this happen to me for the first time.
16,000 “Please expedite your climb”…
Change frequencies… “You are 300 feet below your assigned altitude”
“Uhhhhhhhh, no?!?”
EDIT - Can’t tell if it’s a problem with ATC and assigned altitude, or ATC and Barometric pressure.
Either way, it’s annoying as ****.
I actually have a solution at least for Xbox players. It seems for most flights the “barometric pressure” is incorrect when you first spawn at your departure airport,
Since I don’t have a keyboard I’m not able to “press “b”” to auto adjust this setting to stop ATC from annoying me constantly.
The solution I found is before take off wherever I spawn i lookup the BP number for the altitude I’m at on the ground at my departure airport. This has the affect of telling the plane at which elevation is my starting or my “0” altitude,
On some places you can switch to a “standard” BP setting for the aircraft that will fix the issue sometimes. But this is not every plane, every time.
Until it’s updated I’ll be getting a keyboard to use with my Xbox so I can AT LEAST just press B to fix it when flying,
Been driving me nuts in the A320.
“Please expedite”… No, i am at the ■■■■ altitude and my pressure is set to what you told me to!
At least i now know it’s live weather being broken.
did MS/Asobo do a flight at all after their sim modifications?
I am doing a long flight as we speak from Los Angeles to Sydney Australia. This was driving me nuts so what I did was just change the VHF frequency. You’ll also need to turn off AI ATC if it’s on and that will shut them up lol! Not the best option but you can always switch back haha!
Same here, driving me nuts!
I’m on XBOX and was playing today and this even occurs to AI aircraft… I keep on hearing “generic ### please expedite your climb to…” over and over again.
It has taken over my airwaves haha. Seems like the whole world has gone mad!
Use the ATC offline sound mode until that thing is also fixed there appears to be an issue with the Azure servers
Interesting, first time I’ve heard of this setting. Sorry for my ignorance but what does this setting do?
It turns off the Azure server its been a little buggy lately not transmitting ATC instructions the entire flight i found this mode temporarily fixes that at least until it can be patched
