ATR Prop brake is visual only and does not actually have an effect

Are you using Developer Mode or made changes in it?

no

Have you disabled/removed all your mods and addons?

none loaded that would affect the airplane

Brief description of the issue:

Engine #2 produces thrust even with prop brake engaged

This clearly shows that the prop brake is only stopping the animation of the #2 Prop and clamps the NP to 0%. The sound and physics engine, as well as the simulation of the electrical systems does not seem to care at all about this, and will happily treat the Prop as fully working.

Properly simulated there should be no thrust, no sound and no ACW generation with the prop brake engaged.

Provide Screenshot(s)/video(s) of the issue encountered:

This video shows the ATR 72-600 happily taxing around with no prop movement.
This is due to Engine #1 being shutdown and Engine #2 CL set to Auto with the prop brake engaged.

Detailed steps to reproduce the issue encountered:

Startup engine #2 with Prop brake engaged.
Set Condition lever to Auto, disengage parking brake and wheel chocks
This should also power up the ACW systems. NP #2 stays at 0%. Prop is not visibly spinning.
Observe “Low pitch” and “SGL CH” appearing, indicating normal unfeathering of the prop.
Observe Prop sound increasing and aircraft moving forwards.
If no movement is observed, it might be necessary to increase thrust

  • IdleGate only blocks the PowerLever to reduce to Ground Idle in flight visualy, power still reduces below FI.

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?

YES

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:

Prop brake appears to not actually do anything as it is possible to taxi with hotel mode by moving the power levers forward this also appears to affect other locks like the gust lock where the simulation is only visual. The props also do NOT feather properly and the aircraft can still move with feathered props

If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:

Start the ATR in HOTEL mode either manually or with the EFB then move the throttles forward the engine sounds will ramp up as if engines were running and the aircraft will start taxiing as if the engine was running with the prop spinning and not feathered.

Kind of. The prop brake seemed to be inversed. When Off, propellers was stopped. When On, propellers were rotating. Not everytime I start the sim.
